The nearby mainline station is just a mile outside Alnmouth (London-Edinburgh) and makes Upper Alnbank an ideal "car free" property - Day trips can be taken to Edingburgh and Newcastle. There are numerous walks along the Heritage Coast which will take you as far as you wish to go, with a choice of hostelries along the way!
