Pet Friendly Properties

Northumberland is famous for being a dog friendly county.

The vast sandy beaches are a great place to exercise your dog and as such dog walking is perhaps the most popular activity on our beaches. Dogs are welcome on all of Northumberland’s beaches throughout the year. However, there are some restrictions at Low Newton from May to August due to the Little Terns nesting at Long Nanny burn.

Many of Northumberland’s towns and villages, particularly in the rural areas, cater for dogs providing water bowls outside. Some shops and a lot of the local pubs also welcome dogs inside. On leads dogs are also allowed in the grounds of many English Heritage properties.

We are very dog friendly

Over 70% of our holiday cottages are dog friendly and accept up to two well-behaved dogs.

To find out which properties these are use our property search feature to the left and click on "Advanced" and tick the box which says "Pets Allowed". This will filter your search results to show our dog friendly properties.

Please be aware that when we say "Pets" we generally mean dogs, including assistance dogs, cats and any other type of pet. For further clarification please contact the office.
