The property

Swallow Cottage is a pretty stone-built, single storey cottage in an attractive courtyard setting part of a former farm buildings conversion. Situated in the tiny farm hamlet of Branton in the foothills of the Cheviot Hills, the cottage is surrounded by outstanding walking and cycling country, with the Sustrans trans-pennine cycle Route 68 on the doorstep. At nearby Ingram, the National Park Visitor centre offers guided walks and outdoor nature based activities throughout the National Park, Englands most unspoilt. The Heritage coast is a half hour's drive away through quiet country lanes and there are National Trust properties and the famous Alnwick gardens also a short drive from the cottage. ACCOMMODATION OVER ONE LEVEL (Ground) Living/dining room open plan with log burning stove, TV/DVD, CD player/radio. Kitchen area with electric hob, oven, microwave and fridge. Bedroom with double bed. Bathroom with bath, over electric shower, basin and WC. OTHER FACILITIES Seat in courtyard and communal lawn area with barbecue. Oil central heating. All power, starter pack of logs and bed linen and towels included in rent. Private parking. No children under 2 years old as property not suitable for travel cot.

The small pretty Northumberland village of Powburn is situated in the foothills of the Cheviots and surrounded by glorious countryside. The village has a shop and a wide range of amenities are available in the nearby market town of Alnwick. The village makes an ideal base for exploring the Northumberland National Park, Alnwick with its imposing castle (known to millions as Hogwarts School in Harry Potter!), the impressive castle gardens and The Treehouse Restaurant. The spectacular coastline, the attractive towns of Wooler and Rothbury and the well known National Trust country house and gardens at Cragside are all within easy reach.
