Where is Seahouses Village?<\/h2>\n

Seahouses is a lively working port sitting on the picture-perfect coastline of Northumberland. Between Bamburgh and Beadnell, the village offers the feel of a classic British seaside resort without the usual hustle and bustle.<\/p>\n

The gateway to the Farne Islands, fishing boats decorate the colourful harbour, docked from their search of lobster and crab.<\/p>\n

And where better to sample the daily catch than in one of the many restaurants scattered along the bustling high street.<\/p>\n

An ideal base for a getaway with the family, there’s countless things to do in Seahouses. Test your luck at the small amusement arcade, peruse the shores with an ice cream in hand, or if you’re feeling lucky, why not head for a round of crazy golf?<\/p>\n

Visit the Farne Islands<\/h2>\n

One of Europe\u2019s most exciting wildlife habitats, catch a boat from Seahouses harbour and journey to the Farne Islands, a few miles off the coast.<\/p>\n

Home to one of the largest seabird colonies in England, with over 23 species, expect to see guillemots, razor bills and kittiwakes amongst many more.<\/p>\n

The Farne Islands are also home to the largest collection of grey seals found along the east coast.\u00a0In Autumn, the islands see over 1000 pups bask on their shores.<\/p>\n

In 1838, Grace Darling, a lighthouse keepers daughter, rowed past these islands in a heroic attempt to rescue survivors from the shipwreck of Forfarshire.<\/p>\n

Weather permitting, Billy Shiels\u00a0Boat Trips<\/a> operate regular Farne Islands boat tours, showcasing the many residents that inhabitate the islands. With grey seal cruises, inner island landing trips and scenic sunset cruises, you’re spoilt for choice.<\/p>\n

A short distance away, the pristine sands of North Sunderland Beach provide the ideal setting for a leisurely day on the coast.<\/p>\n

The sand stretches for three miles before reaching Bamburgh Beach, offering plenty of room to paddle the shores, make a splash, or let four-legged friends run free. If you time it right, you can try your hand at crabbing when the tide is in!<\/p>\n

With impressive sand dunes and facinating rock pools decorating the shores, we’re sure that this will be added to your list of top things to do in Seahouses.<\/p>\n

Sitting within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Seahouses is the ideal starting point to explore this magnificent part of England. And if you’re looking for things to do in Seahouses with dogs, there’s nowhere better than the rural beauty of the great outdoors.<\/p>\n

Some of the best coastal walks in the country rest on your doorstep. The Northumberland Coastal Path runs alongside the glistening shores of the North Sea for 100 kilometres, framing spectacular views along the way.<\/p>\n

One of our favourite things to do in Seahouses is join the coastal path from the village of Beadnell in the south, passing through Seahouses before continuing onto Bamburgh.<\/p>\n

Get on your bike!<\/b><\/h2>\n

One for the cycling enthusiasts, The Great North Bike Ride<\/a> is one of the most popular things to do in Seahouses!<\/p>\n

Taking place on the 25th August 2024, the cycling feat travels 60 miles along the coast from Seahouses to the Tynemouth Priory.<\/a> Spectacular scenery of the Northumberland coastline provides a truly jaw-dropping backdrop to your ride.<\/p>\n

This annual event starts at the Seahouses Tourist Information Car Park<\/a> at approximately 8:55am. Riders are welcome, however, to join anywhere along the route should they wish!<\/p>\n

The route follows paved roads, with some steep climbs in places. Please keep in mind that this may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.<\/p>\n

The Great North Bike Ride supports the Chris Lucas Trust and aims to raise funds to aid medical research of rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.<\/p>\n
