    Thank you for the wonderful welcome pack - we can see why the cake recipe was included! The cottage is very convenient for Alnwick and Alnmouth and exploring the rest of the beautiful Northumberland coast. There is a nice circular walk from the cottage door round to the beaches at Alnmouth.

Oak Cottage is a beautiful stone built end of terrace property located in a quiet square in the pretty village of Lesbury just a mile away from Alnmouth. Decorated and furnished to a high standard with impeccable attention to detail, with it's log burning stove, Oak Cottage is a very cosy and comfortable cottage for both couples and small families alike any time of the year. The pretty village of Lesbury benefits from a great pub 'The Coach Inn' and a small village shop / post office, a mile away is the popular village of Alnmouth with an array of gift shops, cafes and restaurants. Oak Cottage is ideally located for exploring all the attractions Northumberland and the Heritage Coastline has to offer. ACCOMMODATION GROUND FLOOR Entrance Lounge with comfy seating, TV with Freeview and DVD player and inglenook fireplace with log burning stove. Kitchen/dining room with electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, microwave and Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Dining area with large table and chairs and access to the rear patio. Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.
