    “Overall, a very positive experience in a very well located property.”

    We spent the evenings gathered around the huge dining table as a family, which was perfect. It is worth noting that there isn't really parking for two cars outside - it took somemanoeuvring to park one family sized car outside. The property would benefit from updating the TVs in the communal rooms to smart TVs with Netflix etc, we were with kids and it would have been useful. These are minor points that did nothing to detract from an enjoyable holiday in Alnwick.

The Old Newsagent's is an 18th century Georgian townhouse in the town of Alnwick.

The cottage sleeps eight people in four bedrooms which are a ground floor super king-size (zip/link), a second floor super-king-size, a second-floor 4' double and a third-floor super-king-size.

There are also two bathrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the second floor, along with a ground-floor kitchen, a first-floor kitchen, a first-floor utility with a basin and WC and a first-floor sitting room.

Outside there is off-road parking for two cars and a rear lawned garden with a patio and furniture.

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
