“We stayed here in summer '23, and it's a lovely property, just needs a couple of improvements to make it great
Firstly, the good;
- it's in the perfect location for discovering Alnwick
- nice welcome pack; bin bag, washing up liquid, tea bags etc
- nice, well maintained property, good size rooms, small back garden - but nice sun trap
Bad;
- parking is really tight!”
You have to reverse park and even then it's really tight. Not sure how this can be improved on ... Don't think the wall behind can be removed
- towels, we only got 3 sets of towels (there were 4 of us staying there). I phoned up and was told an extra set would be delivered the next day, but it wasn't
- I would have expected 1 toilet roll to be there when we arrived, but we didn't get one
- shower, I'm being kind to say it's temperamental. It seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it would just stay cold, until you put the hot tap on for a few seconds. Sometimes adjusting the dial would do nothing, other times a small adjustment would make the shower go from freezing to boiling. It definitely needs looked at and would increase our review score straight away
- there's a few old spider webs (around the windows) that look like they've been there a while. These could easily be removed to give a better overall presentation (we removed a few ourselves)
Hoping that doesn't sound too negative, as we did enjoy our stay ... Fixing the shower (and if we got our full set of towels) would really improve our review score

Unfortunately there is no quick fix for parking as Joppa's is in a residential area. We have included permits and alternative parking suggestions in our information file.
We were very upset to hear of the comments regarding housekeeping and cleanliness issues that you experienced during your recent stay.
Our property is fully managed and myself and my sister are very disappointed to say the least in the service that we are paying for from NCCC/Sykes and you can be assured we have taken this matter up with them.
