“In our opinion an excellent property, spacious, in a quiet road, easy walk to the beach, well located for all the Northumberland coastal AOONB.”
We would not hesitate to return. Bunk room has useful space for children to play on the floor. Main TV is Sky Glass; easy to add our Netflix subscription. Note that there are two fridges under the central island, each with just a fast freezer drawer - not a fridge freezer. So there is plenty of fridge space but very little freezer space - do not bring or order any significant amount of frozen food. Note also that the photos are correct about the lack of a dining table - there are chairs, almost backless, round three sides of the island. These are OK for adults and school age children. Not sure about younger ones. Bear these points in mind and enjoy!
Hi, thank you for this . Shore Cottage only recently went back on the rental market after a complete refurbishment, so its great to get some feedback.
We designed the kitchen area around our family of 6 (kids range from 5-14) and we can all sit comfortably around the kitchen island, for younger children there is a high chair available in the store. We thought about adding a separate dining area (other than the outside tables) but thought it would detract somewhat from the living space.
Freezers were something we also thought about a lot, whether it would be better to have one fridge and one freezer or two fridges with freezer compartments. (We went with the latter as we don't tend to use much frozen food when we're away). Based on your feedback we'll look to add some extra freezer capacity somewhere.
Thanks again, hope you choose to stay with us again
Richard
**Update** Large chest freezer added in garage / store

About the location
BEADNELL
Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.
This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
Note: This property is now a member of the ocean club and spa in seahouses so visitors can get (paid) access to the facilities.
Note: There is now a chest freezer in the garage
