    “The cottage is much smaller than it appears on the website - no room in the bedrooms apart from the bed.”

    The bed was very uncomfortable with completely flat, thin pillows. The sofa was also very uncomfortable. The cottage is very expensive so expected it to be comfortable. The cottage is listed as pet-friendly but when you arrive it says dogs are not allowed beyond the kitchen and the front lawn area is not enclosed. We visit this area twice each year and were very disappointed with the cottage and would not book this cottage again.

The property

Courtyard Cottage is an outstanding conversion from former farm buildings with wonderful panoramic coastal views from its windows. It is only a few hundred yards walk to the beautiful sandy beach just south of Embleton. The cottage is very light and airy and has been tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard. The beautiful beach at Embleton voted Countryfile Beach of the Year 2017 and Dunstanburgh Castle golf course are both nearby. ACCOMMODATION OVER ONE LEVEL (Ground) Steps up to front door. Living room with log burning stove, TV/DVD, radio/CD player, wooden floors, sea views and door to patio. Dining area. Kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and door to front porch and sea views. Bedroom 1 with king size bed and sea views. Bedroom 2 with bunk beds (90cm x 200cm). Shower room with shower, WC and basin. OTHER FACILITIES Enclosed paved patio with garden furniture. Oil central heating. The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
