“Apple Orchard House is in a good position, close to Alnmouth with beautiful views overlooking the beach and sea.”

Very comfortable accommodation, good sized rooms and homely. Disappointing to find no toilet rolls had been left for us, nor washing up cloths/sponges. We loved sitting outside in the small garden to look at the beautiful view. The sitting area does need tidying up, weeds around our feet. The grass area needed a mow too. It would be good to have a proper table and chairs to sit around rather than a picnic table. The garden was enclosed which was very good for our young dog. So positives and ...

Overall though, a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful area.

The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants.
