    “Lovely warm cottage.”

    Great views ftom the cottage windows. Plenty of crockery etc. Lots of DVDs, but couldn't get the DVD player to work. Bit of a disappointment on a cold, wet and windy afternoon in November! Walks to Lower Hauxley Nature reserve, Warkworth and Alnmouth greatly enjoyed as were the Christmas lights at Alnwick Castle.

The kitchen in this Amble cottage is light and bright and has been well designed with a wide window to offer beautiful views of the sea.

The open plan living area provides a sociable place for guests to gather; on chilly days the attractive woodburner, set in a stone inglenook, can be lit to provide a warm, cosy sitting area.

When the sun is shining, the French doors can be thrown open to let the sun creep in from the enclosed south-facing courtyard, a delightful little sun trap ideal for an afternoon's alfresco dining, relaxing, or a great place for the kids to play with the dog.

This Amble cottage overlooks a grassy area which leads to the wooden Amble pier, a favourite spot for kids of all ages to dangle a line off the edge, hoping for a catch.

The popular port of Amble has something that appeals to everyone, and is a vibrant harbour hosting a wide variety of pubs, cafés and restaurants.

This Amble cottage is situated on the Coast & Castles cycle route, making it attractive for cyclists and walkers wishing to explore Northumberland.

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
