Two issues gave pause for thought. Control of the heating was remote from the property via an email to the owner, who in fairness responded quickly to a request to "turn it up a bit", as the weather in our first few days was cold and wet. Temperature set points in the living area rose but the bathrooms stayed cool.
I feel it should be made clear in the listing that if you park in the designated parking place you will block at least two other spaces so parking is really "first come first served" in the spots provided for visitors. Nothing the owners can do about this but if it gets busy you may have to park in a public car park, for which a complimentary permit is provided.
If these issues are of no concern then Bernicia would be a good choice for a holiday destination, with regular boat trips out to the Farne Islands, and Holy Island a little further afield. Sea birds and marine life aplenty.
