“We had a lovely stay at Meadow View.”

Its quiet location was perfect for a relaxing holiday but within good distance to Alnmouth, Bamburgh and many other scenic places. The cottage was perfect for my elderly parents as they could use the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. The decor is stunning and the cottage has everything you could need for a relaxing break. It is also very safe for dogs as all the property is enclosed. I would definitely want to go back one day.

Lovely welcome gift basket. Plenty of parking space, peaceful village setting. Very comfy beds. Excellent shower! Owner very friendly on the phone and provided great instructions on finding the property. Lovely neighbour shared some freshly picked strawberries with us. An ideal location for visiting local attractions.

“Had a phone call from owner 24hrs before holiday which was very much appreciated.”

The cottage was immaculate, the kitchen had everything you needed though lacking in oven gloves and tee towels I had taken my own up. All the appliances were very clean. Beds very comfortable The driveway had a wooden gate which would have kept a big dog in though a small dog could have got under the gate, front garden was secure for a dog to run about Can highly recommend this cottage for a quiet stay

“I had a wonderful time at Meadow View!”

! One of the best properties I have ever rented for a vacation, here or abroad. Location is superb for both access to Northumberland coast and likewise the inland countryside. It is true what other guests have said, this is truly a "home from home". I didn't want for anything during my week's stay in terms of comfort, facilities and the space afforded me. I like to try visiting different corners of our fabulous isle, but this experience will make me return for more heritage coast. P.S. To locate the property you need to turn right down a single track road (opposite a telegraph pole - there are more than one!) and then it's the second drive immediately on the right which takes you to a driveway gate at the rear of the house.

“We are in our seventies and my wife suffers from athritis in her knees especially, and I recently damaged my knee renovating our garage.”

We found it hard to stand in the shower (we used the downstairs bedroom and bathroom) and found that a plastic chair would have been helpful to us both. We borrowed a chair from the kitchen to use in the bedroom as the chair in there was too low for us. Other than that we absolutely loved the cottage and everything was in the highest order. We would definitely like to stay again but fir longer. My sister in law used the bedroom upstairs and she was really pleased with everything and enjoyed her stay also. We would highly recommend your cottage to family and friends. Thank you, if the cottage was ours we would live there permanently!

“We had planned a family holiday here, but due to unforseen circumstances I ended up here alone with the pooch.”

However, that didn't matter. The property was a delight. From the welcome gifts to the cosy lounge to the comfy bed to the wonderful bathroom. It was so nice to come back to after a day of exploring and had all I needed and more! Very well situated to be able to access local and further afield attractions. And so quiet and peaceful, with swifts swooping in the back and sheep bleating at the front. The contained areas really were great for the dog too. I plan to return, hopefully with the family next time, as they missed out on this fantastic place.

Situated in the quiet hamlet of South Charlton is Meadow View, a very attractive stone built terraced cottage offering beautifully presented accommodation throughout. Meadow View will appeal to a variety of guests wanting the peace and quiet of the Northumberland countryside with also having easy access to the market town of Alnwick, our beautiful coastline and all that Northumberland has to offer. Sleeping 6, Meadow View has a ground floor king-size bedroom with family bathroom and a further two bedrooms on the first floor. The open plan living room/kitchen/dining room with a roof lantern makes this a wonderful light space to enjoy with friends and family. To the rear of the property is a decked area with ample parking and storage for bikes/golf clubs/surf boards. ACCOMMODATION GROUND FLOOR Entrance hall. Oak flooring throughout the ground floor. Lounge with flame effect electric fire, comfy sofas, Smart TV with Netflix. Kitchen/diner with induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Dining for 6 guests. ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
