“The up stairs shower does not drain and floods the room, the downstairs sink is very slow to drain.”

We had to collect dog poo from the garden before our dog went out. Mould in downstairs bathroom and none of the doors downstairs seen to stay shut.the whole house could do with brightening up.

“Great building, good location for getting around.”

The property itself now well due a makeover. The day we arrived a shelf fell down, missing lug (easy fix) of more concern when i sat on the garden bench it completely fell apart and i had to be rescued by other members of the family (fortunately no injury and we used our own folding chairs in place of the bench). I was dissapointed that having left a message on the Saturday we arrived and again reported the bench on the Wednesday we have not heard from the owner. So to sum up not an area I will return to. Had we not experienced the bench failure i would be happy to recommend the coachhouse.

“We had a lovely stay at the Coach House.”

It was clean and the garden was lovely. Be careful of small dogs as there are 1 or 2 places where they may get out! We had a small problem with the oven which was quickly resolved. Whilst it is quite remote it is very close to a pub/restaurant and the A1.

“The coach house is spacious and well equipped in the kitchen and with games books toys and so on.”

TV with Sky and being smart is a bonus. Location was good as well and the enclosed large garden was good for our dog. It is a little tired, decor, walls and floors with some doors not latching shut. After enquiring if there was a bbq and being told yes, there was not.

“The cottage was very comfortable and I was pleased with the garden for my dog.”

There were a few things I wasn't happy about: the main oven didn't work, the fridge was not cold despite being on its maximum setting and there was no barbecue even though the cottage information listed it as included.

“Hi we had a fantastic and relaxing stay at The Coach House in Beal.”

It really had everything and more. The garden was great for the dog and the location was amazing. The only little issue we had when we arrived was the wrong Wifi details were written in the welcome book but after a call to Sykes that was sorted. Also the master bed was just too firm for me to sleep on so I slept upstairs. We loved the space in the property and the garden. The kitchen was lovely and the crockery was plentiful and very nice to use. We would definitely come back to The Coach House for a holiday. It's perfectly placed for visiting the local area and Bamburgh was not too far away for a daily beach walk with the dog. Thank you for a lovely stay.

“Very disappointed at the state of the furniture in the lounge- needed cleaning- had no hot water and heating for 3 days as it was not left on - no welcome/intro book in view (found buried in hall cupboard 3-4 days down line.”

No BBQ as advertised and not informed for any reason why - had to phone customer services four times and with no reply - finally TV kept cutting out- overall enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would consider coming back if issues were resolved

“We were transferred to the Coach House after a terrible time at Gardener's Cottage.”

It was so much better and saved our holiday. It is a spacious house with fantastic westerly, sunset field views from the back garden. The garden is secure and wonderful for the dog. All the bedrooms were roomy and the house was well equipped. The heating was fantastic, when needed, but it is very bright and cheerful. It is very close to the A1 but we couldn't hear any road noise. We visited Holy Island twice, which is just down the road. However, the upstairs shower was poor, very weak and the water was difficult to keep to the correct temperature. A new washing line and some more pegs would be great! Overall a nice place to stay.

“Well maintained, spacious property with was also high spec.”

Everything was there for a comfortable stay for 6 of us. 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin. 1 double had an ensuite the upstairs rooms shared a bathroom. Good to have a downstairs bedroom for those with mobility issues. Car parking for 3 cars. Al in all a very comfortable stay very close to the Lindisfarne causeway. A great place to base yourself for exploring Northumberland

“This is our second stay in a year at this wonderful property which is spacious and well equipped.”

The large enclosed gardens are ideal for our dogs and the location is excellent. As regular visitors to Northumbria we have stayed in many properties but this is by far the best one we have used and we will be back again.

The Coach House has been finished to an extremely high standard with quality fixtures and fittings throughout the property. Located close to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, it is next to the cycle path and footpath and is within walking distance to the local shop, garage and The Lindisfarne Inn, The Barn at Beal is less than a mile away. BEAL

Holy Island 2 miles; Berwick 9 miles.

Beal is a tiny hamlet in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a mile away from the causeway to Holy Island. This scattered hamlet, known locally as the gateway to Lindisfarne, is in an ideal position for touring North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Within easy reach of the A1, Beal has good access to all of the area's attractions - wonderful beaches, historic castles and Holy Island, which is just two miles away. Those who enjoy the great outdoors will be delighted with the Northumbrian Coastal Trail, which runs through Beal and onwards down the Heritage Coast offering stunning scenery along the way. Beal is within easy reach of both St Oswald's Way and St Cuthbert's Way and there are some great birdwatching sites nearby. Seahouses is close by or you can spend a day visiting Farne Island by boat where you may catch a glimpse of seals and puffins. The golden sandy beaches at Beal are home to many seals and seabirds, plus The Barn at Beal is an excellent attraction for birdwatching and has a first class coffee shop, farm shop and restaurant.
