“It's a lot more isolated than we expected.”

Single track roads most of the time. The property is very well fitted out and nicely decorated. There were a few maintenance issues, a badly cracked window pane in the upstairs bedroom, a broken thermostat in the same room and loose towel hook in the downstairs bathroom. One of the single beds was very uncomfortable, cracked lampshade in the lounge. The entrance door very stiff to open and close. Outside there was a slat missing from the table and a broken chair. One of the single beds was very uncomfortable, cracked lampshade in the lounge. The entrance door very stiff to open and close. Outside there was a slat missing from the table and a broken chair. Having stayed at less expensive property very recently which provided a welcome pack and basic usable items in the kitchen, this property lacked both, there weren't even any logs for the log burner

About the location

EGLINGHAM

Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Eglingham sits on a country road between Alnwick and Chillingham, and with its stone houses, lovely gardens, stream and wooded areas, it makes a lovely spot to visit. There is a fine Victorian church in the village, a large pub and also a good restaurant. The surroundings are ideal for those wishing to get away from it all – you may see the heron grace the Eglingham burn, or just relax and take in the views and incredibly wide skies of the area. Within easy reach are the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, the castles at Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Chillingham and of course Alnwick, with its spectacular Garden next door.
