“We thought the location was great and house was large and spacious and was perfect for us.”

The abundance of hot water and fluffy towels were very welcome after days activities. Our suggestions to improve the experience are to remove the abundance of pot pourri. In addition, to consider updating the main bathroom which was looking, and feeling, a little shabby. Finally, a fluorescent/warning strip on the small step into the kitchen would highlight it and minimise any potential trips. We are happy for the first paragraph to be publicly viewed but that the remainder are small issues ...

Dear Theresa, thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed staying at our house and found it perfect for your stay. Thank you for the nice comments about the fluffy towels and abundance of hot water. We note your comments about the pot pourri and the main bathroom. Whilst we acknowledge your right to comment on the property, we would like to advise you that we have had numerous guests staying at Seaview Cottage over recent years and you are the first person to mention that the main bathroom needed updating. It is an old house and we feel the bathroom is clean and airy and is in keeping with the age of the property. There is a "lighthouse lamp" on the table next to the small step leading to the kitchen and we always leave this on to ensure guests are aware of the step. Unfortunately your whole review was published so I felt I should respond accordingly. Kind Regards Peter & Patricia. Property Owner

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
