Everything we needed was provided. The garden brilliant for the dogs, secure and well lit at night. Despite the road, pub and chippy it was quiet. Great location, only a ten minute walk to the harbour and plenty of shops and takeaways etc. Amble is very pretty and the beach at Hauxley superb for the dogs. We wouldn’t hesitate to return! Thank you Amy & William, we loved Victoria Cottage.

We absolutely loved it . Everything was perfect and the garden was perfect. Our 2 cockapoos loved exploring it all. We enjoyed exploring the area and went to Alnwick Castle, Cragside and Seahouses. Had never been to Northumberland before and we loved it all. The scenery and beaches were superb. We had a snashing holiday and the owners William and Amy were super too . So helpful and friendly. Will definitely go there again.

“This is a wonderful property, situated in an ideal location to get around the town and to travel further a field.”

Clean and tidy, with everything you need for a holiday stay. Private parking is available with the property, it’s extremely tight, this has never been an issue for us (this was our second stay, with another booked for October) as there is a car park a stones throw away behind the Blue Bell public house, or plenty of parking on the road.

5 minutes walk away from the beach. The Cottage itself is so spacious and we are a family of 5 (2 Adults & 3 Kids). It was spotless when we arrived & we were greeted with a welcome basket which was a nice touch! Would definitely recommend!

“A lovely cottage ideally placed within Amble for ease of access to everything we wanted.”

Well equipped, with all needed for a stay away from home, with the added bonus of a nice starter pack to get you going upon arrival. The secure back garden was ideal for letting the dogs out for a late night call of nature, knowing they where safe and secure. Although I never mastered the private parking, I think our car was probably a little too big, we simply parked in the small nearby car park behind the pub which is a minutes walk away. We love Amble, and would happily stay in Victoria Cottage again.

“This cottage is outstanding, the best I have ever stayed.”

In. it is immaculate, the tea coffee etc was welcoming, the owners lovely. I was worried when I found it was next to a pub and on the main road, I like my sleep, but I need not worry as there was little to no noise. I feel a three star is very unjust, it deserves more at least 4 or 4 +. It really was home from home. The parking is at the back down a narrow lane but that was never an issue and at least I had a parking space , which we have been caught out with before, one time I was a half mile walk from my car. Can not wait to stay there again.

The owners have kept it to a high standard. The bedrooms all have comfortable beds, the bathroom is modern, clean, with a great shower. The kitchen has everything you need including washing machine and dishwasher. The garden is lovely and perfect for sitting out in. Also safe if taking dogs as we did. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

The leisure access was a great bonus. The only issue I think should be made clearer is that the property is next to a pub. There was some slight noise disturbance on the friday/ Saturday but nothing that stopped us sleeping and not until late. Other than that the property met all our needs and it was lovely to be able to walk to restaurants, shops and the coast easily.

“A deceptively large cottage, comfortable and spacious; allowing the entire family to enjoy a relaxing holiday without being on top of each other.”

Victoria Cottage was spotlessly clean and sumptuously furnished, making it the perfect base from which to explore the beauty and wonder of Northumberland. The owners were available via phone for anything we needed or to answer questions, and welcomed us into the home with a care package that included fresh flowers, tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter. What more could you ask. The off-road parking is tight but doable, even in our SUV. Quick tip: reversing up the drive having deposited the passengers at the end does make things easier. When we visit the area again, we'd definitely seek another stay in Victoria Cottage; not sure you could do better.

The only negative was that the rooms were a little dark but this was due to the position of the house and otherwise everything was excellent. “For the money we paid for we expect it to be a better, the back door does not open fully as it only opens two thirds making it difficult to go through especially when you have a baby, also when you use this door it hits the boxed section and swings back hitting you, the shower is antiquated and dirty, the property is on a main road with heavy traffic which means when you open the bedroom window you hear all the noise in the early morning.”

The pub is not 1 min away it bang next door, when they have functions on you can hear it, and you also get the noise from rowdy people leaving the pub, if we had known properly about this we would have booked elsewhere,

The steps from the front bedroom needed careful negotiation for elderly people.the owner very kindly picked us up from Alnwick and took us to the station for our rail journey back to suffolk. This made transferring our luggage very difficult. Apart from that blip this was a delightful experience. Very comfortable, extremely well equipped accommodation which was within walking distance of shops, restaurants etc. The term cottage belies the actual size of the property, would quite easily suit family of five plus. Amble is an absolute gem and I fully recommended this holiday accommodation and locale.

With three bedrooms; a super king-size double (zip/link can be twins on request), a king-size double and a single, this cottage can sleep five people in total. There is also a bathroom, kitchen, dining room with electric fire and sitting room. To the outside is off-road parking for 1 car and an enclosed courtyard garden at the rear with furniture. Victoria Cottage offers a lovely escape to the coast, for you and your loved ones. Note: Any bookings made commencing 7th August - 14th August. About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
