The beds are comfy and everything is well presented. The back garden is large and perfect for warmer weather. For me personally I found the fact that the owners have full control of heating / hot water( air source heat pump system) less than ideal.The only heat source is a log burner in the sitting room if you are cold.
It would have been helpful for Sykes to disclose this information in the lengthy description. I would not have booked this accommodation had I been aware of the situation.
The property is well situated and we had a lovely holiday only marred by the above issue, which would not be a problem in the warmer months.

The hot water in the cottage is on continuous and is not controlled by the owners
The cottage is heated by an air source heat pump and has radiators on the first floor and underfloor heating on the ground floor.
The heating is on 24/7 but the temperature is set to reduce through the night and then increases early in the morning.The temperature of the four thermostats are set at 22/23 degrees for most parts of the day.
The system/thermostats are very complicated to use and we found that some guests pressed the wrong buttons on the display and totally turned the system off which prevented us from remotely resetting the system resulting in a call out to the property to reset the system
We have the system running very efficiently and if any guests feel it is too cold we have provided a number which they just need to text and we can increase the temperature.
The log burner in the lounge can also be used to give extra heat and is ideal for cosy evenings in.
