The gas fire in the sitting room gives instant heat, making it a delightfully warm and welcoming room in which to batten down the hatches and relax on the sumptuous sofas after a hard day's sightseeing. This Alnmouth cottage is also in a perfect location for enjoying many walks from the doorstep and exploring the endless delights of the Heritage Coast, Warkworth Castle, Amble Marina, Alnwick Castle and gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster (famous for its kippers), Beadnell village and Bamburgh Castle, which are all less than a thirty minute drive away. A little further are Hadrian's Wall, Holy Island and Cragside house and gardens at Rothbury. Alternatively, with Alnmouth station only half a mile from this cottage why not jump on the train? Newcastle is only 25 minutes away and you can be in Edinburgh in just over an hour. This Alnmouth cottage is in a great position to explore this lovely county all through the year. The village of Lesbury has a community run shop a few minutes walk from the cottage selling daily provisions including bread, dairy products, meat and vegetables. The Coach Inn, in Lesbury, is a five minute walk from the cottage and after being closed for the past 4 years reopened in February 2024 following refurbishment currently it is open from midday until 11pm but closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, at the moment there is no food available as the kitchen requires a full refurbishment that is planned to take place later this year when the pub will again be closed for a short period.

About the location

ALNMOUTH

Alnwick 4 miles.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.
