Toll House

Lovely property and great location.

The house was conveniently near the town centre and only a short drive from attractions we wanted to see.

Minor quibble, we are old and it would have been handy to have grab handles in the showers and it took us some time to train ourselves not to bang our heads on the low ceiling as we stood up from the upstairs loo.

This was our second visit.

Comfortable and well maintained cottage in centre of Corbridge.. Handy for shops and good choice of places to eat out. An ideal base for countryside walks and a variety of attractions to visit. Prompt action taken when dealing with an issue we had on arrival.

Lovely comfortable property our only issue was the height of mirror in main bathroom we were unable to use it as it was far to high on the wall for us to see ourselves.

Also it would be helpful to have a mirror in the first floor bedroom for female guests to do make up and hair . Would recommend this property to family and friends

Really enjoyed our stay at the Toll House right in the centre of Corbridge, which has so much to offer with great pubs, restaurants, cafes plus a range of really interesting shops, not to mention the architecture and setting of the village itself.

The Toll House was very adaptable with a downstairs and first floor living rooms, both with tables where my family were able to work remotely. A well fitted kitchen looking on to a garden yard full of greenery with lots of birds visiting was a pleasure to use. The three bedrooms were very comfortable, it was also really useful having two shower rooms. Lights under the kitchen wall units might be useful, along with explicit instructions about what to put in the different recycling bins, as this clearly differs around the country. These are very minor points however, we all really enjoyed our time in the Toll House and are already trying to plan a date to return!

Well appointed and comfortable. We could well be back.

Beautifully furnished property close to town centre, with parking.

Comfortable upstairs lounge. We were a couple but perhaps a larger group would need an extra sofa. Kitchen was extremely well stocked, with large fridge freezer, washer drier and dish washer. Bedrooms were bright and airy and nicely furnished. Downside: no waste paper baskets in lounges and bedrooms. Care is needed on first floor landing stairs but more importantly there is no lighting on the upper stairs and landing - hazardous! But all in all a delightful cottage.

Located minutes' walk to the center of Corbridge.

As a cottage for 4/5 people it was odd that neither lounge had comfy seating for 5 people.

Perhaps an extra chair in the upstairs lounge where the tv was. We found the kitchen pots and pans etc a bit sparse if you wanted to cook a proper meal. Not everyone eats out every night. Microwave Pyrex dishes with lids would be good. The oven/ dishwasher/ washing machine etc was great. Nicely decorated and extremely clean. Lots of storage. Good central heating and bathrooms.

Surprisingly larger than expected, well appointed cottage with comfortable beds and only 5 x minutes from Corbridge market square.

Can thoroughly recommend.

Perfect for our trip exploring Hadrian’s Wall.

Lovely location near centre of town with everything we needed in walking distance (Co-op, cafés, restaurants, pubs, etc).

pleasant property. No outdoor shoes upstairs (need to remember slippers), nicely carpeted upstairs .Lovely kitchen but needed more instruction for range style cooker. Very clean and comfortable throughout although we did feel it was cold in the house and heating did not raise temperature appreciably. Fault with wi fi sorted out fairly quickly but wonder if it would have been sorted out if one of us wasn’t a tech. expert who recognised the problem and helped handyman to resolve it! Speed of response was very quick - thank you ! Courtyard was lovely and a real sun trap. Would recommend to others and possibly stay here again.

High quality furnishings. Needs a teapot and drinking glasses.

Suited our needs down to the ground.

Will seriously look to re-book when we want to be in the area.

There were the following issues with the property which we reported at the beginning of our stay: 1.

The stair carpet on the first landing had come away completely from the gripper rod. It looked like the gripper rod had come loose. 2. The blind on the velux window in the double second floor bedroom did not fully close. 3. The plug in the main bathroom was closed when we arrived at the property and as the ‘pop up waste’ has not been connected properly this was difficult to release.
