The property

This delightful detached bungalow is situated next to the River Coquet, in the lovely village of Warkworth, near Amble and Alnwick.

Ideal for a couple or small family, this superb cottage is the perfect base for exploring all that there is to see and do within this part of Northumberland.

This spacious holiday home has a welcoming sitting room with a warming electric woodburner-effect stove set into a fireplace, along with a fitted kitchen and a conservatory.

After a day out and about, why not rustle up a hearty evening meal before enjoying it around the dining table before relaxing with a drink in the sitting room whilst planning what else to visit or see during your stay?

There’s also two bedrooms at this charming cottage, a master king-size double with decorative fireplace and a twin, together with a modern bathroom.

On a sunny day open the door from the conservatory and unwind in the garden whilst the River Coquet runs by and down to Amble.

Just a minute or so walk away is the village of Warkworth with its ruins of a 12th century castle, Georgian and early Victorian houses, antique shops, restaurants, pubs and a nine hole golf course.

The small town of Amble is within easy reach and has further amenities, along with a marina and harbour.

Also in the area are Alnwick with its castle and gardens, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island and Hadrian’s Wall.

A welcoming holiday home with something for everyone in the area.

About the location

WARKWORTH

Alnwick 5 miles; Alnmouth 3 miles; Amble 1 mile.

Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
