Estuary View

Estuary View is beautiful, very well equipped and is the cleanest holiday home we have ever stayed in!

It has more than enough private parking and gorgeous gardens too. It’s in a perfect location, just a few minutes walk into Warkworth, with its fantastic stone buildings and great places to eat and drink, not to mention the amazing castle and river. The owners were very friendly and helpful too. There were lots of little touches that had been thought about and were greatly appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and we will definitely be back - thank you!

We have just had the most wonderful week at Estuary View.

It's more like a home than a holiday rental. Probably the cleanist cottage I have ever stayed in. The owners thought of everything. There were even fresh flowers and a lovely welcome pack.i I am a full time carer for my Dad and find relaxing difficult. Estuary View made me feel so relaxed. Thank you x

We’ve holidayed in Northumberland 2 or 3 times a year for around 16 years in dog friendly cottages.

Estuary View has got to be one of the best equipped, best located and also wonderful that it’s all on one floor these days. It’s important to us that we have a secure dog friendly garden which this certainly has, plus 3 seating areas to enjoy the evenings and views of the Coquet Estuary. 2 drives to choose from so parking isn’t an issue unlike some cottages. Comfy king size bed, we slept well all week but that could also be the sea air and long walks. Ideally situated to visit the many beautiful beaches and attractions, Warkworth being the nearest and Alnmouth is about a 5 mile drive away. We walked along Warkworth beach to the river Aln and back one of the days but there is also a costal path. Amble is about a 1.5 mile walk/drive from the cottage with numerous bars, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, shops, supermarkets, boat trips and Sunday market in the harbour. Of course there is so much more to see with its many castles, Lindisfarne Island, nature reserves, gardens etc. Warkworth has a number of pubs, restaurants to eat and drink. Looking forward to our 2 week stay at Estuary View in July this year.

The property was very clean, cosy and comfortable. Lovely, powerful shower, comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. Close to eateries and wonderful walks. Our fourth stay at Estuary View and yet another lovely holiday.

A complete home from home experience with great care taken to provide everything for a relaxing holiday. So much to see and do with great local eateries on your doorstep as well as the wonderful places to visit in there Christmas finery. Our dogs are welcome everywhere and love the trips to the beach and walking along the riverbank. We will most certainly return in the near future to this excellent location and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else.

Such a beautiful bungalow in a perfect location.

2 mins away from walk along River Croquet and half a mile from a stunning beach. Close to lots of other nice places and beaches too. It is on a main road but we didn't experience any problems getting on or off the drive. Couldn't hear the traffic either. It was that good we have already booked for next year

The bungalow was extremely well equipped above and beyond than usual Lots of extra little touches.

The conservatory was an added bonus we spent a lot of time in it. The description on the website did mention that the property was on a main road but we did find it a bit overwhelming at times and we understand that there is nothing that can be done about it. We have got a wide and quite long car so we did struggle parking. You have to rely on people driving either way to wait until you got onto the drive. The above mentioned have no reflection on how much effort the owners have put in to make this a lovely bungalow. It was a lovely short walk along the river into Warkworth and perfectly positioned for anywhere you wanted to visit

Very comfortably furnished and the flooring was great for our arthritic dog.

The owner generously provided toiletries and kitchen necessities and we appreciated the welcome pack. Loved the conservatory! One small gripe - the towels were poor and since there’s no washing machine we would have appreciated another set, especially given there are 2 bedrooms.

Probably the best property we’ve stayed in.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped and very well located for discovering Northumberland. Nice to actually have knives that aren’t blunt in the kitchen. There is some noise from the main road but it was not enough to spoil our stay. We hope to be back at some point.

Exceptional property very well maintained, on entry you can tell straight away how clean it is, the best welcome pack we have received at any cottage we have visited.

Very clean and well maintained, lots of information, and a very nice welcome pack. Comments for Jenene and George (not really complaints) that shouldn't be seen as negative, but as I'm asked I will include, the weather was really good so we didn't need to wash clothes etc, (there isn't a washing m/c, which we did know beforehand) although we did dry towels, and we couldn't find anywhere to hang them outside. Also, were able to spend a reasonable amount of time in the conservatory, however the chairs were a bit uncomfortable after a while. Having said all of that, we really liked the cottage, it's very well looked after and we felt as if our custom was really valued. We will very happily be rebooking. Thank you so much!

This was our 2nd visit to this beautiful and comfortable bungalow.

The owners have provided everything that you need for your stay. There is an enclosed back garden, ideal for our dog, with lovely views of the river. It is in a lovely location, ideal for walking into Warkworth and Amble. Would highly recommend staying here.

The personal touches, attention to detail and excellent communication between us and Jenene made the week away an absolute joy.

Well cared for property which was absolutely spotless.

Really comfortable and cosy. Communication with Jenene was great and very useful. The hampers for both dogs and humans were a lovely touch and much appreciated. Another thing which was great was the provision of oils, sauces, butter and other condiments - very thoughtful to include these in the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break here.

What a wonderful bungalow.

Attention to detail is very impressive. Everything you could possibly need has been provided to make your stay as comfortable and welcoming. The generous hamper was lovely not forgetting a doggy box too. The garden is superb and a touch quirky, it was a pity that the weather didn't allow us to use it. The property was very well presented and in an excellent location.

A very cosy and homely feel is presented throughout making it so easy for the whole family to feel settled and comfortable. The outside space has been well considered showcasing an established cottage style garden and decked area.

Beautiful inside and out we had a very relaxed stay. Ideally situated to visit Warkworth and Amble on foot, we parked up the car and only used it for 1 day when we went further afield. So for us the best kind of holiday.

Lovely area to explore and in a beautiful accessible village. The owners have provided everything needed and more for a relaxing holiday. Welcome packs were fabulous, even providing one for dogs! Best cottage we have been to. This is our third visit and will definately be returning.

Probably not been to a cleaner property!

Very comfortable and in a great location! The garden is a lovely place to sit it with several areas of it to choose from. Loved the laminated notes explaining how to use everything!! 100% we will be back!

A homely cottage in a great location for lovely river walks and coffee in Warkworth.

We also walked along to Amble and drove out to Alnmouth, Bamburgh, Craster and Newcastle. We especially liked sitting in the conservatory, however all rooms were spacious and comfortable. Everything you need is provided by Jenene and the cottage is spotless on arrival with a nice welcome pack. A great choice!

Had a fantastic week property was lovely convenient for all facilities will definitely return.

Only slight niggle was no washing machine and although i dont want to be washing on my holidays we could have done with a spin dryer as we got absolutely soaked one day and clothes were dripping and nowhere to put them no washing line took ages to dry clothes on airer but that being said it wouldn't prevent me from returning to this beautiful place

This was our 2nd time staying at Estuary View Bungalow.

On our return journey home we booked for next year what better recommendations can we give. Estuary View is a lovely bungalow with everything you could possibly need.The views from the Garden are stunning. The bungalow is very well situated for visiting all the surrounding areas.

The bungalow was immaculate and beautifully decorated for Christmas.

We were so impressed with everything that was provided. The instructions for tidying up and for using the facilities were very clear. We loved the location of the property and would definitely return.

A lovely property everything you need and more !

Great outdoor seating in the lovely garden with views of the river. Good for our two dogs in the enclosed garden and we loved the conservatory and watching the birds feeding . Warkworth had great walks along the river with a coffee in the village after or breakfast and also walking to amble and a coffee stop or whatever you wanted before walking back just fab !!

I lovely only feel that was very welcoming.

It was lovely and clean. I’m very well equipped. Good Amenities. Welcome packs were marvellous and very well received. The garden was lovely. Cottage is in a lovely situation in village however the road was very busy and you could hear traffic news also coming in and out of the cottage is sometimes difficult with the traffic.

2nd time we’ve stayed and now we’ve got it on our list for future holiday bookings.

Even for a Christmas stay if available. Excellent outside decking at the back and enclosed for dogs with good access from the conservatory Good sized kitchen and facilities. Ideal location for walking into and around Warkworth and for a lovely riverside walk to Amble. Extra provisions provided when we arrived included a lovely bottle of wine. No negatives to report

The property was very homely and you had thought of everything.

It is so close to the shops and restaurants.

Everything you need in this fabulous bungalow. Jenene and George have thought of every comfort and special touch for humans and Dogs friends alike! Both in and outside in the fabulous garden . Owners kept in touch checking we were all right and if we needed anything . Very clean and well equipped. Will def be back . Would have liked a bigger entrance right side of house driveway and removal of the gate / fence there. Tight for our car , But this was a very minor thing and we absolutely are looking when we can come back! Loved it thanks Jenene and George . .

An exellent stay at Estuary view which we enjoyed tremendously.

Very comfortable accommodation which exceeded our expectation. The property benefits from owners who have gone to a lot of trouble to think of everything you might need whilst you are on holiday. Very comfortable for our dog which is important to us with even her own welcome box provided. Our first stay at this property- but will certainly not be our last.

The property was outstanding clean and very comfy but the best thing about it was the views from the garden which came as a very pleasant surprise.

The property is located in a lovely village which has all the facility’s you need and was also secure for our dog. We enjoyed it so much that we booked for next year on the day we returned.

Communication was good before we arrived.

We loved the cottage. So cosy and spotless. The views were good from the garden ( no leaves on the trees} Warkworth has lots of walks from the cottage. Great that they accept dogs in most places. An excellent cottage.

A lovely homely cottage, very clean with all necessary facilities including many not received elsewhere.

The owner left a lovely complimentary box of goodies, even treats and biscuits for our dog. The garden was good, lit up for night time and completed with bird feeders and fencing around. As it was a December visit there were plenty of decorations and a pretty Christmas Tree. We enjoyed our stay and we would not hesitate to recommend this property. Large enclosed garden with lovely views of the river. Although it is on a main road we didn't hear the traffic and using the drive at the side made it easier to drive in and out of the property. Great location and easy 5 minute walk into Warkworth which is a lovely village and very dog friendly. The welcome pack for us and our dog was much appreciated. This is the first time we have booked a cottage with Sykes without a washer.

Unfortunately, we hadn't noticed one was not listed. It's disappointing for a self-catering property. I think it should be a must, or attention should be brought to it in the ads. All else was lovely, though, and the welcome pack was excellent.

Great cottage with brilliant gardens and a really well stocked kitchen with every utensil you could possibly need. We had a slight hiccup on our first night with the TV reception, but after letting the owners know they popped over to sort it the following day. Thank you Jenene and George. This little cottage was superb.

It was spotlessly clean, very well equiped (we wanted for nothing) the garden was very safe for the dogs. I know this is a cliche but it truely was a home from home, in fact we could have lived there forever. It was by far the best cottage we have ever stayed in. The welcome pack was just brilliant. We had 2 friendly and helpful telephone conversations with the owner. The welcome pack was very much appreciated and was sufficient to see us through the first evening. We don’t think that the owners could have done much more to make our holiday pleasurable.

Lovely bungalow near the castle.

Delighted with the ‘welcome pack’, a lovely touch. View from the rear of the property is fabulous and so nice to have a conservatory to enjoy it on cooler days. We will be back for sure!

We were very impressed with the beautiful bungalow.

Everything was immaculate! The beds were comfortable and the shower was lovely. There was a lovely welcome hamper, which was extremely thoughtful. I would certainly recommend this gorgeous place to anyone. We hope to return.

Jenene and George could not have done more to make Estuary view more welcoming and safe for visitors (due to the pandemic restrictions) the cottage was spotless ,Brilliant welcome box eggs, bread, butter, milk wine etc - even treats for Robbie, which he loved!

Estuary View is located in Warkworth, a very pretty and friendly village on the Northumberland Coast, it is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful county.

This cottage is one of the best holiday properties we have ever stayed in. We felt immediately at home on arrival, thanks to a generous welcome pack from the owner, and even our Mini Schnauzer had been left a selection of dog treats, as well as dog bowls and dog towels. The cottage is very comfortable and had all the home comforts you could wish for. We would recommend this cottage without any hesitation.

The house had everything we wanted and more, very friendly and informative owners, very clean and very well equipped, we had a great time and would book again.

The whole booking procedure was very easy and any questions we had about payment, when to arrive, directions and amenities etc were answered in advance.

Lovely clean bungalow in good location.

Nice welcome basket including treats for the dog! Very quiet despite being on roadside with a good area of off-road parking. Ideal spot for walking, beaches, visiting attractions. Warkworth has a nice selection of shops and pubs, village store has a good supply of useful provisions. Only small negative for us was the number of scented diffusers all round the house which for us was a bit over-powering. Overall, a great house which we would recommend.

Everything was so clean and so much thought had gone into decor and comfort. The cottage had everything you could need.

Well located place, very comfortable, plenty of space for the four of us plus dog.

The cottage was superb, best that we have stayed in for a long while.

It was immaculately clean, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The owners obviously have given a lot of thought to the needs of their guests, with small details like tiny torches at the bedside, folding chairs for picnics available, boxes of tissues in each room and cooking basics such as oil, salt, vinegar, stock cubes, tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc in the kitchen. There was also a welcome hamper with a bottle of wine, biscuits, bread, spread and eggs. Very nice touch. There were fresh flowers in two rooms as well. The conservatory was lovely and we used that more than the sitting room as it had lovely views of the garden, which was well kept and colourful, complete with fairy lights at night. Despite the road we weren’t troubled by noise and were able drive onto the second drive and reposition a large estate car so that we could drive out forwards. It’s very convenient for the castle and for shops, ages, pubs and restaurants in Warkworth town,as well as the wonderful Northumbrian beaches. All in all a splendid holiday cottage.

Garden at this property is excellent with fantastic views, only negative for us was the bed in the main bedroom was a bit uncomfortable, think a new mattress is required.

warkworth is a beautiful place and estuary view fits there perfectly, my partner said I could not have picked a better cottage, this is the first time I have used Sykes but it wont be the last, everything about the cottage was spot on thank you to the owner for a lovely stay.

Everything has been thought about. Bed was wonderful. Pictures do not do it justice - lovely extra decking around conservatory and also a side garden area not shown in pictures. Very quiet too - despite being on the main road.

Estuary View is a delightful holiday cottage.

Extremely comfortable, and full of little extras - welcome pack, fresh flowers, etc. The Conservatory is very special as is the garden. Lack of a washing machine was the only disadvantage but we did know about that from Sykes description. Would recommend to anyone.

We've used Sykes cottages for some time now as we trust them with our holiday choices (sykes set our benchmark for cottages), But from now on we will be looking at the details and reviews more closely as this one fell short of our and Sykes usual stantards.

Disappointed sums it up in one word... Some road noise needs changing to very loud road noise and dangerous when pulling in or out of the driveway the extra turning space is no use And reversing off the drive is not recommended as the road is very busy. There's loads of wastrd cupboards pace in the kitchen including the dishwasher (hope they rpeace the rusty saucpan and tin-opener)...With no freezer or washing machine time was wasted shopping each day. Not even a washing line to dry towels ect. TV reception was annoying 10 minits was about the best we got before it went off. Slept in the back bedroom as it was the quietest but had to go to the end of th hall to put the light on it really need another switch.. Taps are strange and never got used to then... I would not recommend this property We've had 3 sykes cottages this year and paid a lot more than usual as we thought we would have more luxury We've had cheaper and much better.... My other reviews on the sykes website are as honest as this one and hope people benefit from them... Choose wisely and look at all the details is the lesson of the day XXXX OWNER RESPONSE XX We were very disappointed to read your negative feedback about your stay at our property as we always do our very best for all of our guests as you can see from our reviews and have many guests who re book. We feel we are very clear with the description of the property on the website and we do not advertise a washing machine or a freezer at the property and clearly state that as property is next to an A road, some road noise can be heard. If you had contacted ourselves we would of been happy to reslove any issues.

Estuary view exceed all expectations is was a delightful cottage and the welcome touches from the owners was greatly appreciated we would highly recommend this cottage to family and friends in our opinion this was 5 star .

People who book this cottage should be aware that it is on a busy main road for the car's getting out of the driveway

An excellent base to explore both Northumberland and the Scottish borders.

The cottage exceeded our expectations in so many ways. There was a lovely welcome pack and lots of little extras such as tissues and fresh flowers in fact too many to remember! The bed was extremely comfortable and my husband slept well on the first night which is unusual for him. The garden was excellent with bird feeders so we could watch a great variety of birds including a woodpecker. Although I did very little cooking the kitchen was well equipped and when we had asked owner if there was a cafetiere she provided one. The village has friendly pubs offering good value excellent food.

Cottage matched up to the description and exceeded our expectations.

It provides an excellent base for a holiday in the area.
