“We shortened our stay as found the mattresses incredibly uncomfortable.”

It was also unbearably noisy with pigeons roosting by the door in the back bedroom and neighbours at the rear constantly running up and downstairs. I rang Sykes to let them know of our decision to vacate early. They asked me to write my complaint to them which I did. However my complaint has not been dealt with, every time I email it’s a different rep with different advice. I’m still awaiting a response re compensation for our shortened stay. However my complaint has not been dealt with, every time I email it’s a different rep with different advice. I’m still awaiting a response re compensation for our shortened stay. Sykes has said it’s up to the owner although I have booked through Sykes and only dealt this them. I find this appalling customer service and I would like to escalate my complaint but no one is responding or directing me to someone who can help.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay. Unfortunately, we were not made aware of these problems at the time, which meant we didn’t have the opportunity to rectify them for you. We haven’t had any previous comments about the mattresses being uncomfortable. We will also look into the noise concerns you raised but again we haven't had anyone mention this before. Your comments are invaluable in helping us improve, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. Property Owner

About the location

ALNMOUTH

Alnwick 4 miles.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants.
