Rose Bank

This is a very lovely house, high up with gorgeous views over the Northumberland countryside.

Easy to find off the A1. The house is beautifully maintained with everything you need for a lovely stay..easily accommodates up to 6 people. One slight quibble was that as I suffer from arthritis the ground floor bedroom, whilst a godsend, had twin beds with thin mattresses that weren’t ideal. However, overall as a family we loved this house and would highly recommend it. 9.5/10.

Great location for touring this beautiful coastline

This is a lovely spacious property ideal for six people.

Well stocked kitchen with numerous utensils which were invaluable when you have children with specific eating habits. Belford is quiet but well situated for the coast and countryside walks. Our only disappointment was the pubs in Belford where the food menus were very restricted and expensive. We found the Bluebell acceptable but once again expensive when compared to our home restaurants. We would recommend the cottage and may even visit again in the future.

The accommodation was pleasingly spacious and well-equipped.

The view from the dining room was lovely. Our one issue was with the two single bed mattresses in the downstairs bedroom which need to be replaced as well past their prime. One TV controller didn't work - probably needed new batteries. All in all a pleasant stay.

There have been many! We can’t add anything to previous guests comments other than to say we wish we’d booked longer than for the one week. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you also to the owner for the welcome pack and all the other extras.

Absolutely superb property that exceeded our high expectations in every way.

Plenty of room, immaculately clean, and well equipped with wonderful views. A small issue about heating (our error) was quickly resolved. Would recommend to anyone looking for a big, comfy yet cosy property in a great location.

Excellent property ideally situated close to A1 but not too close that you hear the traffic short drive to many amenities and beach well stocked shop in village ideal for dog owners as enclosed garden even for large dog would definitely rent again

Rose Bank is a lovely, clean, comfortable house in a great location with magnificent views from every window.

It has everything you need for a lovely holiday away from home. It is in a perfect location for visiting the sights of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. If we were to return to the area in the future, we would definitely want to stay here again.

Rose Bank was our second stay at this lovely property and a ‘home from home’ as it’s has absolutely everything you need for a delightful break.

The owner had left a small welcome pack which was nice and most appreciated. As always, the views were amazing and picturesque from the front of the property. I would highly recommend Rose Bank and we will be revisiting in future.

The facilities were spot on everything that you need to make it home from home. The property was exceptionally clean. I would definitely recommend for people to chose this as a place to stay.

The house itself was spotless and had all the facilities required for our stay, it was well appointed and extremely comfortable. The outside space was tidy and well appointed. The views from the main bedroom were wonderful whilst having morning cuppa in bed. It is a 5 minute walk from the village with a couple of pubs, a coop and a great chippy. It is ideally situated to visit all the local places, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick, Holy Island, Berwick etc. I would have no hesitation booking here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Rose Bank, it was very well equipped, very clean & very comfortable with wonderful views.

It is not far from the A1, but you wouldn’t know as it was extremely quiet. It is a a very handy place to stay as it is not far to travel to Bamburgh, Alnwick & Berwick on Tweed and all the lovely areas around.

What a superb place.

A home from home. The views were outstanding. everything was excellent. Nice comfy beds and chairs. plenty of kitchen equipment. In a very quiet location easy to access the surrounding area. Close to the A1

One of the best equipped self catering properties we have ever stayed in.

Great that it has a downstairs bedroom and shower room for less mobile people, my mother loved it! Brilliant base for visiting the coast and the usual tourist areas. We have been to Northumberland many times but this introduced us to an area we haven't been to before. Quiet and great place for exploring the history, wildlife and coastal villages. Perhaps update the information booklet, instead of having a cupboard of older leaflets to sift through and perhaps a 'Visitor Book' for people to add comments and recommendations for those less familiar with the area. Missed not having a bath. Bird feeders would be a great addition to the garden. Definitely somewhere we would stay at again!

An immaculate cottage in a pretty village with stunning views.

Great location for visiting all the sights with a handy supermarket a short walk away, plus some very nice pubs. Very comfy beds and everything you could need. We loved it here, thank you.

We had a great time at the property it has everything you need and lots of extra touches that make it home from home.

It is comfortable and warm unfortunately for us the fire in the living room was not working but the owner said that it would be fixed as soon as she could get somebody to come. We will definitely return there is lots to see and do in the area and the local people are very friendly and welcoming. Can recommend the pubs in the village. Valerie is a great host and responded quickly to any queries we had. Thanks for a great holiday.

Lovely house in a quiet setting.

Comfortable beds, good shower facilities, practical kitchen. Plenty of parking and room to exercise the dog. Good welcome pack. Heating system efficient. We enjoyed our stay and are likely to return.

We loved Rose Bank Cottage.

Perfect location for visiting Northumberland - the cottage has amazing views over the countryside. Spotlessly clean with comfy beds and everything you would need in the kitchen - the milk and sweet treats were a nice touch. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely be back to visit.

The house was spotlessly clean wonderful base to explore the beaches and castles.

Beautifully maintained and everything you could need wonderful house would recommend. The only thing is it is set on steep drive and garden for young or older people and there are lots of wonderful bunnies hopping around if you have dogs regardless it's a wonderful place and would have been lovely if we had a proper summer to have a bbq too.

Very clean and comfortable property.

The welcome pack of cakes and milk were much appreciated. We had no issues at all with any aspect of the property. All lights were working and appliances we did use all worked. Well equipped kitchen. The Kingsize bed had a very comfortable mattress and the pillows were perfect. As we are in our 70’s this helped us get a really good nights sleep. Our Husky enjoyed her stay as well. She settled down very quickly after our 8 hour drive. She loved the beaches too. There were plenty of brochures in the property to browse through for days out around the area and beyond. We would definitely recommend this property.

Great house in a good location with lovely views.

Village had nice cafe and a good fish and chip shop. It was an Ideal location for visiting the coast. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

This house is a fabulous place to stay in .

The house is warm and very comfortable.Located above Belford it has great views. There is plenty of car parking space . The house is a short drive to the A1 ,meaning easy access to Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Annick.

This property is lovely, clean , bright, spacious with lovely views across fields and the village, can even see the sea from one of the bedrooms.

Very well equipped Village pubs only a small walk away, and nice tea room. Would highly recommend this property

The property was very well presented and had pretty much everything you would be likely to need.

It was comfy with plenty of space inside and outside. Fabulous views to the South West, Property is brilliantly located for easy access to all of the Northumbria gems. Would happily stay again.

A beautiful modern house, well equipped and furnished.

Plenty of space to move around. The position of the house, elevated from the private road to it, lends itself to appreciate the beautiful views of the countryside, and we could see the sea from the back bedroom. The ground floor bedroom and bathroom was good for the less mobile member of our family, and we had a wonderful week in that part of Northumbria, which we hadn't visited for several years. (Can recommend the chippy in the village!)

We would definitely recommend Rose Bank.

It is situated on a very quiet side road, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. It is within easy walking distance of the towns pubs and restaurants. It is also near to the bus route between Berwick and Alnwick, which was brilliant. The house is altogether very comfortable, and clean, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

The cottage was excellent; very clean, and we were impressed and delighted by the well equipped kitchen.

We also had an excellent response from the owner when Netflix went down, as she sorted it straight away. A major issue however, that has meant we haven't given a glowing five star review, was the mattress on the kingsize bed. It was broken to such an uncomfortable level that we couldn't use it. We ended up sleeping on the floor using two single mattresses from the other bedrooms. Not what you expect when you pay premium rates for a cottage. We really recommend the cottage, and would visit ourselves again...so long as the kingsize mattress is changed!

Quite probably one of the best properties we have stayed in.

Immaculately clean, well furnished and equipped. Lovely homely feel to the place when we entered. The beds were very comfortable, spotless bedding and pillows. Bathrooms modern, with showers effective and easy to operate, the kitchen was amply equipped with everything we needed, and the welcome starter pack was a lovely gesture. We explored the well maintained gardens and enjoyed the privacy of the elevated location, hardly disturbed by unwanted noise, only the bird song. Good wifi and TVs in every room were great, the one in the conservatory was really nice for the afternoon and Netflix provided great evening movies when in the lounge.The home is really well placed for exploring the nearby coast and countryside. We would heartily recommend this property to others.

This was a lovely clean property with stunning views, it was in a lovely quiet location handy to shops and pubs, also bus stops just around the corner.

The property also has a bbq which isn't mentioned in the facilities. All in all a lovely place to stay.

The property was lovely, probably one of the best we’ve stayed at, and the vast open view at the front was amazing.

It was also a nice gesture of the owner to leave a welcome pack. Located at Belford was ideal with being centrally located for fantastic days out in the surrounding area.

Next time we are in the area we will definitely hope to be able to book Rose Bank.

We had a fabulous stay at Rose Bank.

The house had everything we needed and the location was ideal for the places we planned to visit.

The house and it surrounds were fabulous, the house is large and spacious, it was very clean and tidy, great place to have a base for all that the northumberland coastline and surrounding areas has to offer, would recommend it.

There was everything you could wish for.

The house was warm, comfortable, clean with great views over the countryside and over the sea at the rear.

Rose bank was a lovely cosy accommodation.

It was very clean and well looked after. Everything we needed was there plus a lot of little extra touches. I would would feel happy to recommend Rose Bank to anyone.

Fabulous cottage,very roomy with fantastic views and very well located to explore the Northumbrian coastline,cottage very clean and well equipped,a credit to its owner,thankyou.

Furniture is either rather old and well worn or modern and basic.

Upstairs shower is always only Luke warm. On the whole a pleasant stay, but would not book again.

An absolutely amazing property and location.

So central to everywhere, such as Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick. We easily filled our days. The property is huge, so many spacious rooms. It's unusual to find so many reception rooms so it was a good mix of being able to sit together and watch TV, or being able to sit in a room by yourself and quietly read. We loved the serving hatch into the very grand dining room! We set up a jigsaw on the large table in there and enjoyed the panoramic views on an evening. My only small gripe is the twin beds upstairs were very creaky and kept us awake. There was nowhere to report any issues like this, and it wasn't worth ringing the owners as it's unlikely to have been a quick fix. Having said that, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It truly was a delight.

We have just had a wonderful holiday at Rose Bank and the property was everything we hoped it would be in terms of facilities and comfort.

The bonus was the wonderful views! We sat outside several times during the day and also the evening, when the sunsets were absolutely magical! It is in a perfect location for all the places we wanted to visit. I very much hope we will return.

Valerie has thought about all the little things most other lets omit. A VERY small moan is the small rear lawned area would benefit enclosing for dog owners but again, an observation not a complaint. A lovely home.

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was. The property is extremely well equipped, all we could expect and more. Valerie the owner was just a phone call or text away to assist if required. Loads of safe private parking. Comfortable beds in spacious accommodation. Only a few minutes drive to Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle.

My husband and I celebrated our golden wedding anniversary by choosing a holiday in Northumberland, what a good choice it was ,Rose Bank at Belford was a fabulous house,top marks to making this property so comfortable and welcoming in every way,we sincerely hope that we will be able to come again.

The plastic covers on the beds, duvets and pillows made sleep less comfortable than we had hoped.

Rose bank is a fab holiday cottage.

Everything was provided, it was exceptionally clean and very spacious. It is placed centrally so the whole of Northumberland was within reach for sightseeing. The area was a bit limited for eating out, as the food at the local inn wasn’t very good but the little chippy in the village was lovely, the fish was gorgeous. Overall a wonderful stay…..even the sun shone all week
