“We enjoyed our stay at Dale View.”

A bright modernised cottage with all the facilities. The car parking arrangement with the pub over the road worked well and there were no problems. The only thing to mention was that the sofa set cushioning was very soft - probably through lots of use. Just needs new foam interiors. Otherwise would definitely recommend this property in the Hexham area.

About the location

CATTON

Allendale 1.5 miles; Hexham 9 miles; Allenheads 9 miles; Newcastle 32 miles.

The village of Catton, with a pub that serves food, is situated less than two miles from the town of Allendale in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town of Allendale was once the centre of a busy lead mining area, and many relics of the mining era remain around the area. Catton is ideally placed for access to Carlisle to the west, Hexham to the east or the Roman Wall just to the north. There are lots of walks and unspoilt villages in the surrounding North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is an ideal location for exploring the surrounding countryside or travelling further north to the glorious Heritage Coastline.
