“This was great accommodation.”

Very comfy and cosy, with all we needed. Ideal location for exploring the area. Superb views from upstairs living area. Catherine, the hostess, made us so welcome, chatted to us about local places to visit, and gave us the opportunity to feed the calves. We had a fantastic stay and hope to return.

“A wonderful holiday in this excellent property.”

Such a convenient location for the coast, castles, gardens with walking and wildlife activities local. The spiral staircase might be difficult for some visitors and I could not reach to shut one of the cupboard doors but otherwise the facilities were perfect.

“I had the best stay at Jenny's cottage.”

I came up for some peace and quiet while I wrote for my PhD with some coast and fun for the chill time. The cottage is lovely and has all the comforts of home. The layout works brilliantly and there is everything there you could need - kitchen was really well outfitted for everything from a snack to a full on meal. I loved curling up in the chair to read of an evening. Everything was super clean and welcoming. Catherine was a fantastic host and on hand if I needed anything. Honestly I cannot recommend this lovely hideaway enough, you can see the sea from the sofa and wake up to bird song; its a perfect and peaceful retreat. Its close to lots of walks and other villages which is great for days or evenings out. I'd love to come back and enjoy again.

“We have been to Jenny's cottage lots of times, it feels like home from home, we love it there.”

The owners are extremely friendly and helpful if you need help. The property isn't close to amenities, so a car is a must. However it is in a lovely position for walks. Alnmouth is the closest town with a beautiful beach. Alnwick is a must, and Warkworth and Amble, all worth a visit. I'm sure we'll be booking for next year soon. Thank you.

“The downstairs TV didn't work, the radio alarm clock was also broken.”

We reported these upon arrival and we're told the TV would be repaired or replaced - neither of which happened. The toilet dripped constantly and again despite reporting this nothing was done to rectify the issue. From talking to the maintenance man, I get the impression these faults had been reported before and they simply hope guests will put up with it. The place is quite tired e.g. the sofas are old and no longer very comfortable. The dishwasher is old and extremely noisy, don't put it on when you go to bed unless you want to be kept awake!!

The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. It's in a lovely position for walks, and for driving out to other resorts. The local beaches are amazing. Jenny's cottage isn't suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, it has a spiral staircase. Thank you Sykes and Dorothy, Brian, Catherine and Olly. See you next year!!!

The suite was well appointed, we had a very relaxing time. the suite is situated in a very quiet area and gives good access to all the major sites in Northumberland. The owners were very pleasant even apologising for the weather which was actually ok and we did all the visits we had planned. Would highly recommend and we would certainly return in the future.

♡ The cottage was immaculate, and I could literally just move in - everything was there, and in place to help create the perfect stay. From the shear luxury of the divine 4-poster bed, the excellent kitchen facilities to the wow bathroom with its airbath. :) The fresh ground coffee and delicious flapjacks were a thoughtful touch. ☆ The views were breathtaking and utterly captivating - catching the sunrise is a must. ○ As for Northumberland, it was the gift that kept on giving - return I must, for there is still so much wonder to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jenny's Cottage. The cottage is absolutely perfect in every way. Beautifully appointed, cosy, immaculate and extremely comfortable. We loved the extensive views over countryside and out to sea. The jacuzzi bath is a real luxury and very welcome after a day out walking. The owners are so hospitable and on hand to ensure you enjoy every minute of your stay. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding are. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and will definitely be returning.

The property is beautiful, furnished and equipped to a high quality standard, with a fabulous view (especially through sunset) of Almouth and the sea from the (first-floor) sitting-room. There were lovely coastal waks, miles of unspoiled virtually empty beaches, and country walks only a relatively short car ride away - and countless places on interest slightly further afield - we especially enjoyed the castles, lovely pubs, and great "local" beer! Dorothy, the proprietor, and her team were very friendly and helpful. A great find!

Very helpful, friendly owners. Re other comments: we had no difficulty with bath nor stairs (in our 70s), but did feel rather indulgent running so much hot water for a post walk bath! Another positive is fast wifi and smart tv. Excellently located for exploring the area. The only negative is the broken up tarmac drive to the properties. As the car is definitely needed every day, it is not ideal!

Fortunately I’m quite tall, someone under 5’4” or not very agile would probably have some difficulty getting in and out, even for a shower! Someone with limited mobility would probably find the staircase a challenged too.

“The cottage is the perfect cosy retreat with a wonderful view.”

It both inspired me to get out and about, and was a warm and relaxing place to return to at the end of the day. The bath is the biggest I have ever seen (and the hot water is endless) and the bed is the best I've slept in at any holiday cottage - besides the fact it is a beautiful four poster, it's extremely comfortable, the pillows were just right and the sheets were excellent quality. There is also a very comfy sofa to lie on and enjoy your view! The location is very peaceful, but also well-connected - Alnwick is 10 minutes away and can provide most needs, and Alnmouth is less than 10 minutes the other way and is a lovely little village with a great deli and a marvellous beach. The owners are on hand if you need anything, and are very helpful. Definitely one to return to!

Dorothy and her husband were really friendly and brought me a pint of milk. The property was warm and welcoming so I instantly felt settled. The property itself isn’t in Alnmouth. This wasn’t an issue as it is very near the station (also not in Alnmouth) but maybe helpful to list it as being in Bilton. The front door stuck a bit but again that’s a very minor quibble. The facilities were really good (supremely comfy 4-poster bed, jacuzzi bath) and the views, especially from the living room, were to die for.

“We stayed over easter 2018, the weather was awful but thank goodness the cottage was warm and cosy.”

The view form the sitting room is terrific and the setting very quiet. It was a great place to explore the Northumberland coast from - handy for Alnwick, Howick Hall, Lindisfarne and as many castles as you can manage The kitchen facilities were great, and as we like to self cater this was important. The hosts were very welcoming. I would recommend this cottage and would definitely stay here again.

Plenty to do and see including boat trip to the Farne Islands, Hadrians Wall and Druridge Bay. Thursday lunchtimes, go to Druridge Bay visitor centre to hear an informal demonstration of the Northumbrian Small Pipes.

The property has upside down accommodation to take advantage of the glorious views from the living area, which retains original exposed roof timbers and is reached by a spiral staircase.

The ground floor bedroom has a lovely, romantic king-size four poster bed, with en-suite Airbath.

Northumberland's peaceful countryside and beautiful beaches are both within easy reach and only 2 miles away is the lovely coastal village of Alnmouth which provides a range of amenities.

The owners live in the nearby farmhouse and personally welcome visitors.

Alnwick 4 miles.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore.
