The property

Chatton 1.5 miles. One of four beautiful, stone-built cottages in the charming hamlet of Chillingham, just a stone's throw from Chillingham Castle and wild cattle park. This cottage, recently refurbished by its new owner is in a peaceful setting, with leafy roads and a babbling brook on the doorstep, and the imposing castle of Chillingham dominating the backdrop beyond. This cottage would be just the spot for a small family or perhaps as a cosy retreat for couples wanting a peaceful break. This lovely cottage has two good-sized bedrooms, a ground floor bathroom, kitchen, and a comfortable sitting room and separate dining room, both with woodburning stoves for those frosty nights. As a listed building, it has been sympathetically modified yet retains some original features such as a stripped wooden floor in the master bedroom. It is furnished with a blend of antique and good quality modern furniture in keeping with its historic status. To the front there is a shared garden area with furniture, and to the rear is a further garden; the ideal spot to relax at the end of a long day exploring. This holiday home is surrounded by numerous forest walks and cycle tracks, the Heritage Coast is just ten miles to the east with its sandy beaches and many castles, including Holy Island, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick and Warkworth, plus Alnwick Gardens is a very popular attraction, and well worth a visit. Just ten miles west, the imposing Cheviot Hills can be clearly seen in the distance, a must for avid walkers and cyclists. This pretty cottage is a perfect base for exploring Northumberland and all it has to offer.
