The property

Etal 2.6 miles. Set in the Northumberland countryside in the village of Crookham is Crookham Dairy, a traditional, sandstone cottage, boasting plenty of space for a family break. With front and rear gardens, open fires and a sought-after games room, this Northumberland holiday home welcomes six guests and two furry friends to enjoy a break on a non-working farm. The property was built in the early 20th century, having been a former dairy farm with a butchers, but is now the most inviting home, any time of year. Inside, a bespoke kitchen, well-equipped with all you need to cater to your culinary needs invites you to cook up a storm, while the dining room with seating for six and a toasty open fire is where you can gather to enjoy your feast. From here, you can find the sitting room, home to another open fire to cosy up near, along with a Smart TV for your evening entertainment. Next is the games room, located in the old butchers’ shop and keeping with the character of the property, with table tennis and table football to keep you occupied and handy laundry facilities. Completing the ground floor is a sleek shower room, ideal for freshening up after a day of exploring, while the first floor houses a bathroom for when you need a longer soak in the bath. Choose from a zip/link super-king-size for flexibility, a king-size, or a twin on the first floor when it is time to rest your head for the night. Outside, the rear courtyard has the ideal furniture setup for some alfresco meals, or simply admire the front garden and countryside views from the bench with a cup of coffee. The picturesque village of Etal rests in the far north of Northumberland in between Wooler and Coldstream, and forms the estate to the Joicey Family, and has done for over 100 years with its neighbouring settlement of Ford. Etal is home to a handful of fantastic, historic attractions that garner many visitors each year, including the ruins of the 14th century Etal Castle and the magnificent Etal Manor . Visitors can easily find their amenities on the village's main road, with the post office, general store and a tearoom combined into one for villagers' convenience; along with the fantastic Black Bull Bar, a place boasting fabulous good and a great atmosphere. A short distance south of the village is the fascinating attraction of the Heatherslaw Cornmill, a heritage museum packed with interactive exhibits for all the family that backs onto the Heatherslaw Light Railway, a locomotive built by Neville Smith, running between Etal and Ford. Visitors can follow the River Till to Ford and visit the family-friendly Hay Farm Heavy Horse Centre, before touring the gorunds of Ford's breathtaking castle and Lady Waterford Hall.
