“Just back from a wonderful week in Forge Cottage.”
Everything about it was perfect.
Walks from the front door with views over the Coquet valley and towards the Cheviot Hills at the back. The location is steeped in history, with an old Pele tower, built for protection from the marauding Scots, in view.
Hares abound and red squirrels can be found in the woods up Simonside.
The charming town of Rothbury is a stone's throw away, giving access to the border, Northumberland Coast and Hadrian's Wall.
The cottage itself was spotless, with all the facilities needed for a great holiday, even if the sun doesn't shine. I'm looking forward to the 300 mile drive back to Forge!
