“A lovely, comfortable cottage set in a beautiful, peaceful location with gorgeous scenic views.”

The beach and a welcoming local pub are just a short stroll away, with stunning coastal paths right on your doorstep. Nature lovers will enjoy the local wildlife, with frequent sightings of hares, rabbits, barn owls, and a wonderful variety of birds right from the cottage. Ideally located near Seahouses, you can easily catch a boat to the Farne Islands or enjoy a scenic beach walk to Bamburgh Castle. “Snook Point is a beautiful spacious, light and airy accommodation, with great views out to the sea , in a secluded peaceful location.”

Bedrooms are nicely decorated with lovely views, kitchen dining area is lovely and living room is spacious and comfortable. Lots of outside garden space. Amazing sunsets , beautiful nearby cove for swimming 10 min walk over the dunes. Loved everything and booked to come back next June.

“Peace and quiet in a rural setting with access to local walks across the fields.”

Wildlife interest. Sea views. Not too far from Low Newton and the Ship Inn and beaches Although some features are dated everything works well. Plenty of space. We would definitely return there.

“Overall, Snook Point is a great location from which to explore Northumbria's beautiful coastline.”

The cottage is well appointed with lovely views over High Newton sea line. We felt the cottage was a little dated and could do with some modernisation. Our only criticism would be the comfort of the beds. We appreciate that sleeping conditions are very personal, however, we found the double bed matress to be very hard. So we moved into the twin room, where the matresses were marginally softer. In all, we had a pleasant stay.

“We loved our stay.”

It is an idyllic spot .We had fabulous weather and could just walk to the beach.The cottage was comfortable and well equipped.We loved the garden.Our granddaughter played cricket tennis etc on the lawn.It was lovely to wake up to super weather fantastic views and comfortable surroundings.

“A wonderful situation for us, quiet, comfortable and with stunning sea views.”

Walking and watching wildlife are our main activities along with simply sitting out and enjoying the views. Snook Point has it all. There were roe deer, hare, two barn owls, skylarks and sea birds. All seen from, or very close to, the cottage. We had two very minor issues, keeping the kitchen well ventilated from boiler smells and needing a mattress topper for my old bones! Both easily dealt with and neither would prevent a return visit! One reviewer said that the photos don't do the property justice.... they are right. We loved our week's stay. Thanks

The cottage was as described, warm and cosy with everything we needed. Only slight complaint is that the mattress was not comfortable.

“Lovely cottage with everything we needed in the kitchen and elsewhere.”

We needed the heating on our last evening as the weather worsened and it was very efficient and cosy. The coal fire would be great in the colder months. The squeaky floor in the kitchen became a little annoying but it wouldn't stop us going back there. We think the owners must be very tall to reach the high kitchen cupboards! But we managed with the stepladder. The location was fabulous and we loved the peace and tranquillity in High Newton-by-the-sea. We met a couple of the neighbours who were friendly and very helpful.

“As soon as we drove up to Snook Point Cottage we knew were going to enjoy our stay.”

The cottage is well maintained, well equipped and comfortable. It is situated in a very quiet place but within easy walking distance from the sand dunes, a beautiful beach and the village pub. What more could you want? We will definitely be coming back.

The views from all sides are amazing. Good pubs within walking distance and easy pleasant walk to the beach. We loved it and have returned several times. Lots to do in the area.

“Snook Point Cottage was even better than we hoped.”

It is cosy, light and sunny, feels like you are on the edge of the world although actually in a small enclave of cottages (very quiet) and within a few minutes stroll of the village and lovely beach. Great sea views, and well equipped. We appreciated finding the heating on when we arrived on a chilly afternoon. Would definitely return - can't wait.

The property

Snook Point Cottage is a delightful single storey cottage finished to a high standard and enjoys spectacular views over to the sea and to Beadnell Bay.

A secluded sandy cove can be reached by public footpath over fields a few minutes walk away.

There is a family friendly pub a few minutes walk away and the popular beach at Low Newton is nearby.

The surrounding area is unspoilt countryside and the property is in an ideal position for touring coastal and inland Northumberland. ACCOMMODATION OVER ONE LEVEL (Ground) Entrance hall. Living room with open fire TV/ DVD and sea views.

Kitchen/breakfast room with electric cooker, hob, fridge, microwave, freezer, window seats and sea views.

Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with bunk beds (childs) leading to Bedroom 3 Bedroom 3 with 2 single beds.

Off Bedroom 2. Bathroom with bath, over shower, WC and basin.

About the location

NEWTON-BY-THE-SEA

Beadnell 3 miles; Craster 4 miles.

The small coastal village of Newton is situated on Northumberland's Heritage Coastline between the popular fishing villages of Craster, famous for its kippers, and Beadnell. Beadnell Bay offers excellent sandy beaches and there are spectacular coastal paths with wonderful scenery. The village has a pub which serves food and the historic town of Alnwick is only a short drive away.
