Conveniently positioned just 100 yards from the cottage is a bus stop, with buses taking you up the coast to Berwick and down the to Alnwick, stopping at all the coastal villages along the way! If you're feeling adventurous enough to get on your bikes, there are numerous cycling routes easily accessible nearby, with maps in the cottage for you to plan your excursions. The nearby village of Seahouses is a beautiful spot to base a holiday, offering an attractive harbour to explore, alongside a good selection of shops, inns, pubs and eateries, there's plenty here to keep you entertained. Embark on a waterfront adventure and take a boat trip out to the Farne Islands where you can visit a bird sanctuary and spot seals for a truly memorable experience, or walk down the promenade to nearby Bamburgh with its imposing castle, RNLI Grace Darling museum and golf club. Alnwick also offers an exquisite castle, as well as an art gallery and gardens to roam, making it an extremely scenic day trip, or simply stroll along the coast and spend time relaxing on one of the area's many beaches with your loved ones amidst. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Golf, fishing and riding are also available locally.
