    “We stayed for a week at the property in June 2025.”

    The outside view was different to the photo on the site - there were bushes in front of the house and we couldnt sit outside as the grass was too long. The front door and all of the windows looked like they were rotting. Upon entering the property there was no toilet roll, tea towels, washing up liquid or bin bags. There were cobwebs all over, marks on the walls and carpets. On the accommodation summary it stated there was a DVD player but there wasn't one. The extractor fan also didn't work ...

The property

Hodgkin Hall is a stone built property situated on the edge of the village of Lowick, walking distance to a village pub serving excellent food.

Once a former reading hall built by Lord Hodgkin for the local villagers, the property now provides excellent accommodation with top of the range contemporary fixtures and fittings and lovely soft furnishings.

Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, WC and basin. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. FIRST FLOOR Living/dining room large open plan with wide screen TV/DVD and CD player. Kitchen with hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave. Bedroom 4 with single bed.

Bedroom 5 with double bed.

OTHER FACILITIES Small detached enclosed garden, picnic table and chairs.

Electric central heating.

All power, bed linen and towel included in rent.

Private parking for 4 cars.

The small attractive village of Lowick is ideally placed for a holiday in Northumberland and is host to two vibrant pubs, The Black Bull Inn and The White Swan Inn where you can sample some hearty fare before continuing with your adventures. It also has a fantastic village shop where you can stock up on the essentials or treat your loved ones to a selection of home baked goods. Kimmerston Riding Centre is just a few miles to the west of the village . The pretty village of Ford with its castle and craft shops is 2 miles away, part of the Ford and Etal Estate which has facilities for cycling and fishing, as well as a mini railway – ideal for all the family. There are also excellent golfing opportunities, with 8 golf courses within 20 miles of Lowick. Northumberland’s beautiful coastline, Holy Island, the Cheviots for hill walking and mountain biking and the fascinating border town of Berwick, are all only short drives away. A superb base for exploring all the region has to offer.
