“Property not easy to find, overgrown foliage covered poor house name sign.”
On entering, there was an "old" stale smell. Lots of empty diffusers dotted about, probably need replacing.
Initially looked nice, really appreciated the welcome basket but once settled , realised that it wasn't as clean as it could be. We found this surprising as we were told we were unable to enter the property before 4.30 as an enhanced cleaning regime had been implemented!
The mat under the coffee table in the living area had all sorts swept under it....dirt, sand, playing cards!!
Cobwebs in beams in the bedroom and bits in the corners of the bedroom.
Towels and bathmats were old and stained.
On stripping the bed before leaving, the quilt was very stained.
The two leather sofas were most uncomfortable. The sun room was really nice, with a lovely comfortable setee. Although the kitchen was well equipped, there was a large chunk missing from the corner of the electric hob, and the plate rack looked a bit fragile and dusty!
I think if six adults stayed, they would struggle with the bathroom facilities as there is really only one shower that could be used in the downstairs ensuite. Its a brilliant , powerful shower, although the water builds up very quickly in the shower tray and floods the bathroom.
Nice enclosed garden, but again, a little bit of weeding would help....lots of nettles and thistles!
Sorry if this appears very negative, we did enjoy our stay, but feel these things need to be addressed so that they can be rectified.
Just little things, but with a little bit of TLC could be a beautiful place to stay.
It's in an ideal quiet location with really friendly people.
Pub across the road served lovely food.
