“This is our third dog friendly cottage this year and we certainly saved the best until last.”

The Old School was just perfect. The house was very clean throughout. Comfortable bed and comfy sofas.. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything in working order. A lovely welcome pack was most welcome and appreciated. So handy to explore the area. Lots of nice walks and two pubs just a few minutes walk away serving good food. Very professional information folder unlike scratty notes on a pin board at our last cottage. There was just one small negative, the side bedroom window in the ...

“Lovely property.”

Very spacious. Sunroom was a lovely place for a morning and evening read. Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we could need. Comfortable beds. Clean throughout. Very well located for everything Northumberland has to offer. Nearby shop was excellent and take-away from the White Swan of fish and chips also very good.

“We would highly recommend The Old School.”

It is located in the lovely village of Lowick which is a great location for exploring the local area. The house is well equipped, comfortable and spacious. We were left a lovely welcome pack, which was a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

“We had a lovely Christmas break.”

The house is very comfortable and very well equipped. A few little grumbles....no starter pack for the fire as started, it had been remarked about in the guest book. Fine if it's not now included but please do let people know. It's not good to arrive for Christmas, having done your shop , to find that even the local shop has sold out. The duvets needed extra for winter, it was cold at night. Garden needs a tidy, too many broken up shed stores. All minor bits. We would definitely stay again !!

Because we were there in november and the property is electric radiator heating, it became very cold at times and we were constantly having to override the thermostat setting, other than that, one of the best properties we have stayed in with sykes

“Lovely cottage which was very comfortable.”

Great layout with spacious rooms. Really nice to come back for a soak in the bath after a day exploring Northumberland. Plenty to do nearby. Really well equipped although we had to buy some washing up liquid. The Black Bull Inn was a favourite with friendly staff as was the local shop.

“Lowick is such a lovely village and the property was excellent.”

I really can't fault anything about our stay. The owner was really helpful about the delivery and pick up of my friend's oxygen, especially as we couldn't give exact times. I can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

“Great place to discover Northumberland take a few supplies with you to stock the American fridge freezer nearest supermarkets in Berwick but only 15/20 minutes away .”

All one level and car space comfortable beds . Just on little thin make the welcome pack a bit better you would get a 10 not a 9.8 thank you we will be back .

“We were warmly welcomed and any concerns we had were handled promptly and appropriately.”

The property is comfortable, the beds are very comfortable. The garden has no grass, but does have beautiful mature shrubs, especially roses and fruit trees. The property is in an excellent location to explore The Cheviots, Holy Island and the NE coast as well as the Scottish borders. It is a short walk to a super village shop and two pubs.

“It was a very well equipped bungalow but it could do with a mop, nothing there if you spilled anything on the kitchen floor also no laundry basket for wet clothes coming out of the washing machine had to buy one .”

The cooker could do with a good clean, apart from that it was a very enjoyable stay

The small attractive village of Lowick is ideally placed for a holiday in Northumberland and is host to two vibrant pubs, The Black Bull Inn and The White Swan Inn where you can sample some hearty fare before continuing with your adventures. It also has a fantastic village shop where you can stock up on the essentials or treat your loved ones to a selection of home baked goods. Kimmerston Riding Centre is just a few miles to the west of the village . The pretty village of Ford with its castle and craft shops is 2 miles away, part of the Ford and Etal Estate which has facilities for cycling and fishing, as well as a mini railway – ideal for all the family.
