    “Treetops is a fabulous lodge with hot tub.”

    A great deal of thought has gone into what customers want and need from a lodge holiday. They have gone one step further though, everything in the accommodation is of a very high standard, gorgeous beds, linen, towels, rugs, kitchen equipment. It is definitely a 5 star experience and is superbly maintained. The forest walks are peaceful and if you're quiet and patient you will see the odd deer. There was even food left to feed and observe the squirrels. We have already booked to return next ...

The property

A charming wooden lodge enjoying a peaceful spot within a collection of holiday homes on the outskirts of Otterburn, this Northumberland dwelling provides a family of six a beautiful, rural retreat.

Settled on the ground floor, with ramp access up to the decking, you are welcomed into the contemporary open-plan living space, adorned in neutral tones and pretty decorative touches, such as feature lighting over the breakfast bar.

With light shining in from the patio doors and the triangular window in the apex ceiling, you can settle into a snug spot on one of the leather sofas in the sitting area, with a Smart TV here for hours of entertainment.

Perch at the beautiful breakfast bar while dinner is being cooked, making use of the neat and well-equipped kitchen, home to an induction hob, and an electric oven.

OTTERBURN

Bellingham 7 miles; Alnwick 29 miles.

The delightful village of Otterburn, once the site of the famous 1388 victory of the Scots over the English, nestles close to the banks of the River Rede, between the hills and moors overlooking the North Tyne Valley. It offers excellent walking opportunities and is on a variety of popular routes for cyclists. Hadrian's Wall and the beautiful Kielder Forest and Waters are close by, providing fantastic fishing, horse riding and nature watching, amidst superb, tranquil countryside. Otterburn is the former home of a busy weaving industry, and the world famous Otterburn Mill marks the village's historic past. Nearby Bellingham, built predominantly from local stone and slate, houses a handful of pubs, shops and tea rooms and a highly regarded 18 hole golf course. Visit the nearby, majestic, stately homes of Wallington Hall and Cragside, or the historic market town of Alnwick, with its stunning castle and gardens, a mere 40 minute drive.
