“Delightful comfortable apartment.”

Road parking outside is available on occasion but there is a free car park a short drive away across the river bridge and to the right, and easily walkable along the coquet river and across pedestrian bridge

“The Coquet Nest is a very comfortable apartment in a convenient location, being within walking distance of all shops, pubs etc in Rothbury.”

It is literally across the road from the beautiful riverside walk and within easy reach of so many of Northumberland's scenic attractions. We had a lovely long weekend in the area and the pleasant accommodation made our stay even more pleasurable.

Ideally situated with a nice river walk about 20 yards from the door. If we holiday in Northumberland again which is highly likely we would definitely see if the apartment is available

“Fantastic location with plenty of things to do nearby.”

Good range of local shops in Rothbury making staying here very easy whether you want to eat out or cook for yourself. Also lovely choice of pubs. We enjoyed sitting out in the sun at the Newcastle Arms and had an enjoyable dinner in the Queens Head.

“Lovely ground floor apartment just a stone's throw from the high street so shops, bars etc are within easy reach but not disturbed by noise.”

The kitchen appeared well equipped and the only niggle (slight) was that the fridge wasn't secured in place and tipped forwards. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if in the area.

“Absolutely perfect!”

Very comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom. Great location. No garden but no issue for our dog as it's right opposite the path to the riverside. Loved it!

“I only stayed for 2 nights, I’ve never been to Northumberland before, but I really enjoyed it, so I will be going back.”

Rothbury has quite a few pubs, take aways and independent shops. The apartment was spotless, it had everything you would need for a comfortable stay, it’s a lovely old building, but has a very modern bathroom and kitchen area.

“Just two niggles.”

The loo seat needed adjustment and should have been checked before our arrival and the sofa has seen better days. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for visiting Rothbury and the flat is ideal for a couple.

“Our stay at The Coquet Nest was great.”

Very clean and modern. Odd that there is a footstool for the loo though - it has been placed higher up the wall than normal, so be aware if your mobility is not so good. We found the very well located to go explore Northumberland.The only other thing to watch out for is the parking. You can either park up the street where it gets narrow or outside where it's very close the junction. Also, locals tend to park on teh corner of the junction (not safe) in order to use the river access. River access is excellent - it's just across the road. Great for river walk. Would definitely recommend.

“Absolutely beautiful property .”

Fabulously situated on the edge of the town near the river Coquet.stunning views . Immaculately clean throughout. One negative was that dogs had stayed previous and slight smell of doggy. The washing machine had been used for doggy blankets too and we could not use as it was full of hairs. No big problem at all but was the only downside. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely clean bedding. We had a very comfortable 5 night stay and would highly recommend to anyone x

“The cottage was in a beautiful location and was very cosy.”

The river was just across the road which was the same as having a lovely garden. There was a basket of essentials for the dogs which was a wonderful touch. We had a lovely stay.

The capital of Coquetdale, Rothbury, lies on the north bank of the famous salmon and trout river, the Coquet, and is dominated by the heather clad Simonside Hills. It is an attractive, small market town and its proximity to Northumberland’s National Park ensures excellent local walking. Stone houses, typical of the region, line the town’s steep main streets and there is a Post Office, a good range of shops, and a variety of eateries to take advantage of. With a golf course, public tennis courts and cycle hire close by and a variety of great houses and gardens to explore, including the National Trust site of Cragside, Alnwick Castle (home of the Duke of Northumberland), Wallington Hall and a host of famous castles, this great location has plenty to offer.
