    “We had another wonderful stay at the Old Watch Tower.”

    It's equipped with everything needed for a lovely stay and even in October it felt warm and cosy. The only reason we couldn't award 5 stars was that whilst the easy chairs were adequate we missed the comfortable settee that was there previously.

FIRST FLOOR External stone stairs lead up to first floor. Living /dining area with TV and superb river views, cast iron electric stove. Kitchen area with electric oven, microwave, hob, dishwasher, fridge and washing machine. Spiral staircase leads down to bedroom. GROUND FLOOR Bedroom with double bed, vanity unit and basin and french windows onto patio. Shower room with WC.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.
