It is lovely, bright and spacious, the beds are comfortable, everything we needed was there, we loved the sun lounge and spent most of our indoor time in there rather than the lounge, mainly because the table meant it was easier for playing board and card games. The local shop is well stocked and less than a five minute walk.

We enjoyed lots of lovely walks and visiting National Trust Properties, the coastal walk to Seahouses was a relatively easy walk and worth it for fish and chips at the end! The two pubs in the village are excellent and were always busy but we booked in advance which I would certainly recommend.
Getting the car through the gates was a bit of a tight fit but not impossible.
The only criticism would be that the barbeque was still full of ash from a previous stay. We are not barbeque people so we had not planned on using it, therefore the ash was still there when we left!
Whilst I understand that a barbeque on the last night may mean it gets forgotten, it should be checked by whoever prepares the property for new guests, it should not be up up to guests to have to clean a previous guests mess before they can use it themselves!
We would definitely return to Lyndhurst Cottage as and when time and availability allow.
