“Dray Cottage is very well placed in Warkworth to get to anywhere either by car, bus or walking.”

We didn't use the courtyard but sat along the riverbank which seemed to be a very popular spot for paddle boarders. The cottage itself was clean & comfortable and provided everything you needed. Parking was very nearby too.

“Enjoyed the cottage, it had everything that we needed.”

Pleased we did not have any one with us as it would be a bit small downstairs. A booking arrival time of 5pm and 9.30 am departure time was not ideal.

“We had a wonderful stay in your cottage - thank you.”

It is comfortable and in an excellent location. We had everything we needed, and appreciated the little touches such as soap etc; the cottage is beautifully decorated and spotless. One minor point - the parking spaces next to the river are not allocated to specific properties so it is first come first served; we always found a space along the river, but not always close to the house - fine for us but maybe not for everyone.

Thank you for your positive feedback. It is important for us that guests enjoy their holidays. We do the turnaround ourselves so we know its right for guests. As for parking the village is historic and as such vehicles were never priority. Parking is marked for residents only but unfortunately people dont always comply. The property

Dray Cottage is a beautiful and spacious 200 year old stone built cottage with character, ideally situated by the riverbank in the village.

It has been finished to a high standard with attention given to the furnishings and fittings, and is double glazed throughout.

The cottage provides excellent accommodation for a couple or families in a central location and contains everything needed to make your stay enjoyable and cosy whatever the time of year. GROUND FLOOR Living/dining room with Adam's-style fireplace with living flame gas fire, wooden floor, Smart TV and CD. Kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer. Bathroom with bath, shower, WC and basin. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom 1 with double bed and TV. Bedroom 2 with double bed and TV OTHER FACILITIES Small yard with patio furniture.

About the location

WARKWORTH

Alnwick 5 miles; Alnmouth 3 miles; Amble 1 mile.

Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
