    “This cottage is a fantastic location to explore locally.”

    Easy parking, surprisingly quiet considering the road is close, property was clean and had all the basics you would expect, apart from no hand soap in bathroom or kitchen and supplying just one dishwasher tablet is mean. My only gripe is that the listing states fully equipped kitchen which I assumed meant there was a washing machine. There wasn’t annoyingly as we had been travelling for 10 days prior to the stop at Bothy’s and really needed to wash some clothes. Did actually mention this to ...

There wasn’t annoyingly as we had been travelling for 10 days prior to the stop at Bothy’s and really needed to wash some clothes. Did actually mention this to the owner who coincidentally had popped by to mow the lawn. He seemed surprised and apologised that this wasn’t made clear in the listing. I think this should be made clear especially if travelling with children or when you have beach towels etc to wash. Also mean not to allow access to put the heating on as despite it being June it was very cold when we were there but it was too much of a faff to go to the effort of lighting a fire then all the faff of cleaning it all before leaving. Apart from these couple of gripes a great little basic cottage.

    Thank you for your feedback. We have amended the information available to our guests to inform them that there is no washing machine, it was a choice between that and a dishwasher and the dishwasher won!! I hope you were satisfied with my e-mail regarding the heating controls in the kitchen. We have reminded our cleaners to leave the agreed amount of consumables for the guests and we apologise for the oversight. This mid-terrace cottage offers luxurious, characterful accommodation.

The kitchen is well-equipped with a range cooker so that you can prepare delicious meals which can be enjoyed around the dining table together.

The sitting/dining room is beautifully furnished and has character beams, as well as a large stone-built hearth housing a woodburning stove.

Upstairs has vaulted ceilings and exposed beams and there are two luxurious bedrooms, the master fitted with a king-size bed and a spacious bathroom complete with a freestanding roll top bath, a separate walk-in shower and WC.

Bruno's Bothy is a wonderful base from which to explore Northumberland.
