The property

Positioned in a peaceful residential area of Alnwick whilst still being just a short distance from the town centre and amenities, this mid-terrace house hosts a stylish interior. Teàrlach House has been designed to provide a wonderful base in this bustling market town, for exploring the delights of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, perfect for a small family or a group of walkers. Enter in after a ramble and leave your boots in the handy porch before coming into the bright and spacious hallway; head straight for the kitchen and put the kettle on, thinking of how you will make use of this sleek and amply-equipped kitchen with a go-to recipe later on, with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, and fridge/freezer at your finger tips. Over in the open-plan living and dining room, you can spread out on one of the inviting, soft brown leather sofas and enjoy some Sky TV or Netflix, later on gathering around the dining table for a delightful evening meal within this contemporary interior, surrounded by excellent décor. In summer you can open up the bi-fold doors and let in the summer breeze while the little ones play on the lawn, or sit out on the outdoor furniture with a glass of wine. Upstairs discover the well-presented bedrooms consisting of a double bedroom with a convenient en-suite shower, a king-size bedroom which can be transformed into a twin thanks to the zip/link feature, and a single bedroom with a trundle bed for flexible sleeping arrangements, all hosting plenty of furniture to store your things, and served by the lovely shared bathroom which has a shower over a bath. Find lots to do in Alnwick, with your first being to go to Alnwick Castle dubbed the 'Winsor of the North' and was even used as a filming location for the Harry Potter films as 'Hogwarts' as well as 'Brancaster Castle' in Downton Abbey. The Alnwick Garden is home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, along with an enormous treehouse, and an ornamental garden. Catch a show at Alnwick Playhouse, or browse the huge selection of books in Barter Books, one of the UK's largest second-hand bookshops. Discover Warkworth Castle resting on the River Coquet just before it meets the sea, afterwards heading along the coast southwards to the delightful town of Amble which has its own beautiful beach as well as offering boat trips to see amazing wildlife like puffins and seals. The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which was used for the setting of 'The Heist' season two, provides a long stretch of gorgeous coastline to explore, so make sure to bring your walking boots and your camera for all of the fantastic landscapes to be seen. While you're in the area, take a drive towards the famous Bamburgh Castle, a Grade I listed building with audio tours of the state rooms, showcasing a wealth of history. Drive up to Berwick-upon-Tweed to wander the Elizabethan city walls, or hop over the border into Scotland to the small town of Eyemouth with lots of local history to discover as well as a lovely beach. The local leisure centre is just a short walk away, with plenty of activites available each day, a gym and has two swimming pools to cool off afterwards. Teàrlach House will make for a wonderful home from home in Alnwick with your loved ones.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £500.

About the location

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.

Note: Sorry no Stag/Hen parties or similar.
