“A lovely very spacious warm house and very well equipped kitchen- everything one needs.”

The dog walking just 20 metres is first class. However, all the windows needed cleaning and appears this hasn't occurred for some time, and finally for the first time of renting there was no welcome pack i.e. milk and bread and taking into this is a house for 8 and we are 2 the saving on laundry etc would have been substantial.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comments and take them onboard, we were actually at the property the week before you and tried to address the matter with our window cleaner. Our neighbours opposite and ourselves have used him monthly for several years but he have now let us down several times. We did try and approach a new contact but have just heard that sadly he has died. We are doing our best to rectify this situation. In response to the welcome pack: it is difficult for us to address this issue as we live 200 miles from the property and we feel most clients now come prepared for a rental week away. We hope despite these issues you were able to enjoy the well equipped lodge and the local area. Property Owner

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
