“This was our second time at Sunnie Cottage.”

Lovely, well equipped property close to the beach, harbour, shops, restaurants etc. Received a phonecall on our way to Seahouses from Rona the owner to let us know the cottage was ready early. Also found a nice welcome pack on arrival. Our dog Eddie really enjoyed lots of coastal walks and the weather was kind to us. Will definately be back!

“Our stay at Sunnie cottage went really well except for the weather which wasn’t too good.”

The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need and is in the perfect position for touring the area. It is in a quiet enclave yet within a couple of minutes walk into the centre of the bustling village of seahouses.

“We really loved our weekend at sunnie cottage.”

It was much bigger than the photos . It was warm and comfortable. Property was clean and looked after. Kitchen was well equipped and everything was easy to use. It was in a great spot. We had seahouses kippers for breakfast, shop is just around the corner. close to the sea and shops. Really appreciated the welcome pack. We will plan on coming back.

Great location. 2 minute walk to Black Swan Inn. Best fish and chips. Many visits to Amble, Rothbury, Alnwick all within a short drive. Visit to Bamburgh Castle was lovely the staff so helpful. The golf buggy to ferry us oldies about was great. Overall a relaxing holiday made even better by Sunnies Cottage.

The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed for our family of 2 adults, 2 children and cocker spaniel. We’re already planning our return visit. Whilst we struggled a little with the water pressure, this wasn’t enough to impact our holiday and we’ll definitely be back

“Everything about Sunnie cottage was lovely, comfortable (especially the bed), clean and well equipped.”

Location was great, really close to harbour, pub, fresh fish shop, main street shops and coastal paths both north and south. One small problem was in the upstairs bathroom where there was no hot water running into the wash hand basin. Otherwise all was good.

“Me, my parents, son and small dog stayed for 7 nights at the beginning of July.”

Rona had left a welcome pack of milk, crisps, biscuits and wine which was greatly appreciated and a lovely start to the holiday. The cottage was well equipped and furnished beautifully - the beds were so comfortable! We were lucky with the weather so had a great week of walking. The sunset looking from the harbour over to Bamburgh Castle was definitely a highlight. Rona was in contact before the holiday and available during our stay if needed. We didn’t have a problem with parking as each cottage is aware of their allocated spaces I would highly recommend the cottage and would definitely book again if staying in Seahouses.

“We have just returned from a week stay in this lovely cottage.”

Sunnie Cottage is well positioned for exploring the area or just sitting watching the activities in the harbour. The parking is a slight challenge but nothing we couldn’t master yes the parking area is tight but again everyone sharing the courtyard was aware of this and parked with care. The cottage itself is very clean and freshly decorated with quality furnishings. The bathrooms have good showers. The kitchen was well ‘kitted out’ with a welcome pack. Would we stay there again? YES most definitely, thank you for a great trip.

“Mon to Fri break on this beautiful coast.”

Sunnie cottage is perfect. You'll be met with a very stylish fisherman's cottage. Tastefully furnished throughout. Beds are extremely comfortable and the added bonus of the 2nd bathroom makes morning much easier. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. We ate in 2 out of 4 nights. Parking is no problem there is space out the back for every property to park one car. Rona couldn't do enough for us to make our stat as pleasurable as possible. The little outside seating area is a great sun trap.

Very dog friendly place to visit Luna soon cottoned on to how a lot of the shops gave well behaved dogs a treat! We were very lucky with the weather A trip to Farne Island to see the puffins and the seals was brilliant We would definitely stop here again

We never had a problem with parking. If I were returning to Northumberland I would choose to stay at Sunnie Cottage and would recommend it without hesitation. Couple of suggestions:- Replace the baking sheets A saucepan suitable for boiling an egg

“The property is in a great location only a minute from your door to the harbour if that!”

The beds are very comfy and a spacious living room with plenty of seating. Would definitely recommend staying here! There is parking round the back which can be quite tight if you have a big car as on the street there’s an arch you have to go through to access parking. But you can always park up against the wall round the back which would be easier instead of outside the cottage

Fantastic location, very comfortable and well equipped. We felt very relaxed and could have stayed for much longer. Harbour 2 mins away, great cliff walks 2 mins away. Lots of great beaches within walking distance/ short drive away. Great choice of food a few mins walk away in Seahouses. All this despite atrocious weather in April.

Location is ideal....close to harbour and main street. Having a parking space provided is a real bonus as these are few and fair between in that part of town. We stayed during the big freeze and it was more than warm enough. Kitchen had everything you could need. Nespresso machine and pods a bonus! “Sunnie Cottage is situated within metres of the sea front, which was, for us, perfect, as we spend a lot of time on the beach.”

The cottage has everything you would need for a pleasant stay. I would recommend adding a small folder containing basic instructions for use of such as washer/dryer, dishwasher, heating, TV and video. All other cottages I've stayed in include this. Without this it becomes a matter of trial and error of button pushing, which isn't good for the electrical item you're using. Beds are very comfortable. Heating settings were fine for us, but I wouldn't have known how to change them if needed. Overall a very pleasant stay with a helpful and friendly host. Thank you!

“We have had a lovely time at Sunnie Cottage - the location is so close to the harbour with amazing sunsets and very central to all that Seahouses has to offer.”

The beds are small but very comfortable and the cottage is well equipped with everything that you need. The area is fantastic for walking and we managed to go on four separate circular walks from Seahouses. The boat trip to the Farne Islands was fantastic as we were so blessed with the weather. There are quite a few places to eat in Seahouses and we would recommend the restaurant of the caravan park (accessed via the main car park). Good food at good value. Unfortunately we had an overpriced and very average meal in the Bamburgh Castle Inn so would not recommend. On Thursday night there is a quiz night in the Schooner Inn pub which is very close to the cottage and this was such good fun. Thank you to the owners of Sunnie Cottage - 5 friends had a fabulous week!

Cleanliness could have been better i.e. Knives in the knife block were not clean, baking trays looked as if they had never been washed with food baked on. Having a toilet and shower downstairs was good. Parking was good and off road.

Ideal location. Cottage very well appointed and equipped. Almost perfect - two slight niggles. Details mention freezer. There wasn’t one, only a freezer compartment in fridge which was very iced up. We arrived with 3 frozen dinners and nowhere to put 2 of them! Fridge adequate for two but would not be for 4 or 5 people. Secondly, although showers were fine, hot water in upstairs basin tap only trickled out.

Very handy for local pubs, food etc. Some of the cupboards were a bit dusty, and lack of wardrobe space if full occupancy. Had one car and got parked no problem, might be an issue if more than 1car. Downstairs shower difficult to get temp right. All relatively minor complaints and would happily stay again

“The cottage was absolutely great, we all thought it was extremely clean and was much more spacious than we’d imagined.”

The cottage facilities are modern and well kept, and having the two bathrooms was a bonus. It was equipped with absolutely everything we needed, (we especially liked the bed linens and blinds!). The location was great being in easy walking distance to the town centre and the stunning views and beaches close by. Seahouses is a wonderful place, and also so close to the best beaches and historic places in the country!

The cottage was really nicely furnished, very warm and clean and the lovely owner, Rona, contacted us beforehand with lots of information which we found most helpful! She was also most thoughtful in welcoming us with a bottle of wine and biscuits with some milk.already in the fridge. Despite staying in January, the weather was great and we were able to visit Bamburgh castle with its fabulous beach, and a few more coastal areas. There were some great fish and chip shops in the village and nice pubs. We took our Ruby Cavalier King Charles and she loved the beaches. She was happy to sleep in the kitchen which had heated flooring! There was wifi in the cottage with a large TV, perfect! Thank you Sykes and Rona, we had a great time and you deserve full marks! However, we felt that having paid a lot of money for the week they could have left more than one dishwasher tablet! We also found the bed in the single room uncomfortable, with the springs coming through. I did feedback on this and got no reply. The lampshade in the living room was a”so much too low for tall people, it was repeatedly knocked and the lightbulbs fell out onto one of our heads.

The courtyard was very crowded over bank holiday weekend making parking difficult. Indeed hadn't appreciated just how close to outdoor bench the cars and dustbins would be. That said the central location to Seahouses was useful. To avoid crowds went inland most days.

We were a party of 3 adults and 3 children and a small dog. I was worried there wouldn’t be much space but there was. The rooms were spacious and there was everything we could have needed. The kids loved the house. Showers were always lovely and warm. We enjoyed seahouses as a base to explore. It was handy coming back on an evening and having a few good pubs around the corner. Will definitely be back.

“Wifi little hit and miss.”

Is there a way to isolate the extraction fan in the bathroom at night? Very noisy and runs for quite a while so disturbs other sleepers. Otherwise excellent cottage tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Great location thoroughly enjoyable holiday

“The cottage had just undergone a refurbishment and was very comfortable.”

The car parking area was through a very tight entrance archway into the courtyard. Great care was needed getting in and out! Thankfully I managed the week without scraping the car! Other than that it was in an ideal location for touring the area.

“I phoned the owner of the property a couple of days before our holiday for information regarding collecting the keys.”

She informed me that the property had just been refurbished both inside and out and that my wife and I were the first holiday makers to stay in the property since the refurbishment. We arrived at the property and the first thing to greet us was a welcome pack which included a very nice bottle of wine plus some food items. The inside of the property was unbelievable. It was decorated throughout to a very high standard and the fixtures and fittings were superb. We have booked properties through Sykes for a number of years and have not had one complaint of any kind about Sykes and this property was no exception. We are booking the property for the same week next year and would like to thank Sykes for another excellent holiday. A well-appointed terraced cottage, superbly located in the heart of the busy fishing village of Seahouses, far enough from the centre to be peaceful, yet just a short walk away from the harbour and shops.

With two double bedrooms, a single room with a glimpse of the sea, a bathroom, ground floor shower room, a fully fitted kitchen and welcoming sitting room with dining area, this cottage provides everything you need for that perfect coastal break.

To the rear is a small patio area with table and chairs, and beyond, an open cobbled courtyard where in days gone by the fishermen of Seahouses would gather to mend their nets.

Only a two minute walk from the front door are public seats with wonderful views overlooking the harbour, Farne Islands, Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne.

This cottage is centrally located on the Heritage Coast where golden beaches and historical castles can be explored close by, plus further afield are Berwick-upon-Tweed, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Hadrian's Wall.

This cottage is an ideal base for touring this beautiful county.

A bustling, pretty fishing village with an attractive harbour, situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Golf, fishing and riding are also available locally.
