“This could be lovely accommodation, but needs a radical maintenance overhaul and some TLC.”

First impression was no welcome pack in evidence to instruct on various aspects of the property, or finer details of the park and surrounding areas. The freezer was unusable as it was completely clogged with ice. We did contact the owners who sent an online version of the welcome pack and someone visited the following day to defrost the freezer. You are requested to ensure hot tub cover is on when not in use, this was half open on arrival as retaining straps and clips were either broken or not there. Hot tub itself was very enjoyable! 2 Burners on gas hob not working (new oven ordered) Mattress in main bedroom extremely uncomfortable on 1st night with springs sticking into you. This we discovered the next morning was due to it being upside down. We rectified this, but it was replaced later that day, presumably due to a previous comment regarding staining. The door between living area and bedrooms would not close due to a badly fitting threshold, the one on main bedroom door also came away. The window blinds need a thorough clean. No rack for grill pan, lack of containers to use in microwave. Decking at top aof steps insecure and feels like it will give way when stood on. The description of the park given online is somewhat misleading as it feels more of a residential park than a holiday park. The sports court referred to, is a badly rutted tarmac tennis court. What is worrying is that many of the faults have been mentioned previously but not addressed. In its current state it is not value for money.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your stay. I am sorry that aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. However, I do feel it is important to clarify some of the points raised, particularly the suggestion that previously reported issues were not being addressed. The mattress in the main bedroom had been mentioned by the previous guests. As soon as I became aware of the issue, I purchased a brand new mattress and personally installed during your stay, on the very same day the issue was identified. When you reported that the freezer required defrosting, I attended personally and carried out the work the following day to ensure it was fully usable. You also advised that the welcome pack was missing. This had been available in the lodge previously and appears to have been removed or disposed of accidentally by a previous guest. Once notified, I immediately sent a digital copy so you had access to all the information you needed. Following your comments regarding the hob, a replacement cooker has been ordered. We take all maintenance reports seriously and act on them as quickly as possible. During your stay I actively checked whether there was anything further I could do to improve your experience, and no additional concerns were raised at that time. While I appreciate your comments regarding the lack of a grill rack and microwave containers, the kitchen is generally very well equipped and stocked for guest use. The decking area at the top of the steps has already been scheduled for repair. Whilst it has previously been reported as creaking, it has not been identified as unsafe or unstable. I fully acknowledge that some maintenance and cosmetic improvements are required. Like many holiday accommodation owners, carrying out larger refurbishment works during a fully booked summer season can be challenging without cancelling guests' holidays, which is something we are keen to avoid. We have therefore set aside dedicated time in October to undertake a programme of repairs, improvements and general updates to the lodge. Whilst I am sorry that the lodge did not represent value for money in your opinion, I believe I responded promptly and proactively to the issues brought to my attention and did my best to ensure your holiday was not adversely affected. Thank you again for your feedback, which will help us continue improving the lodge for future guests. Property Owner
