    “A lovely spacious, yet cosy house, that was very well equipped and accommodated 4 adults easily.”

    Easy parking on the street when we returned each day, and very centrally located. Comfy beds, nice bed linen and beautiful fluffy towels. We've stayed in Amble many times over the last few years, and this house suited our needs exactly, so we will be back. Just one small maintenance comment to add - the pedal bin needs replacing as the foot pedal doesn't work, so it's not hygienic.

    Thank you for your lovely comments - we are so glad you like the house and will come back again! The mechanism between the pedal and lid on the bin has detached once before and can easily be hooked up again. However, as it has happened again, we will replace the bin at our next maintenance visit in April. Property Owner

The property

Nettie's View is an attractive period stone-built cottage located in a peaceful position in the very heart of the popular fishing town of Amble.

This spacious and dog-friendly home-from-home is only a short walk away from the beach, pier, harbour, children's play area, an array of quality eateries and leisure facilities for those rainy days and is perfectly suited for both couples and families with children. Amble, also known as the friendliest port, is a small fishing town with a huge personality.

Nestled on the Northumberland coast, it's an excellent base for a holiday in our beautiful county.

Take a boat trip from the bustling harbour to Coquet Island, a RSPB nature reserve located just off the coast, and see the colourful puffins, rare roseate terns and appealing grey seals.

Back on dry land, stroll around the attractive harbour shopping pods selling bespoke and unusual gifts and why not sample the culinary delights of freshly caught seafood and local produce at The Old Boat House, La Famiglia or Jaspers all favourites. ACCOMMODATION GROUND FLOOR Entrance hall with stairs to the first floor. Lounge with comfy seating, Smart TV, DVD player and feature fireplace with traditional open fire (Guests can only burn coal NOT wood) Dining room with seating for 8 and antique dresser with family board games Kitchen with classic Rangemaster and gas hob, dishwasher, American-style fridge/freezer, combi washer dryer and microwave. About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
