“The cottage is very comfortable with all that is necessary facilities required for the holiday, would have liked a bigger freezer as I always take my own food.”

The car parking at the pub is acceptable as the car was safe there and the public transport is plentiful. I went to the local places around the area and really enjoyed the walks.

About the location

CATTON

Allendale 1.5 miles; Hexham 9 miles; Allenheads 9 miles; Newcastle 32 miles.

The village of Catton, with a pub that serves food, is situated less than two miles from the town of Allendale in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town of Allendale was once the centre of a busy lead mining area, and many relics of the mining era remain around the area. Catton is ideally placed for access to Carlisle to the west, Hexham to the east or the Roman Wall just to the north. There are lots of walks and unspoilt villages in the surrounding North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is an ideal location for exploring the surrounding countryside or travelling further north to the glorious Heritage Coastline.

Note: pets to be kept downstairs.
