Very nice cottage, ideal for two people, any more might be a problem as there is only wardrobe space in the front bedroom.

The kitchen needed some more utensils eg a table spoon or two & we bought a dish drainer rack which we left there. The front garden is shared with the young family next door, so sitting out mightn’t suit everybody. Given the weather we had, that wasn’t a problem. The house is in a lovely situation close to the river, enjoyable bird watching carried out. Wark is a pleasant little village & we enjoyed our two weeks there.

We had a lovely week in this homely and clean cottage with views of the River Tyne and countryside beyond.

Received a text to say our accommodation was ready from the landlord Geoff and met him during our stay. He was very friendly and approachable. Would recommend this cottage if you want a home from home in a lovely area of Northumberland with plenty to do in the area.

4 Tyne View is a spectacular property as soon as you step through the door you feel relaxed and surrounded with comfort you have a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge and dog biscuits for our pooch.

Everything you need is available. The position of the property is outstanding and it is easy to get to surrounding villages. This property is a little GEM

We spent a lovely week at 4 Tyne View, which is a very pleasant house in a great location, overlooking the North Tyne in a pretty village, with all the key amenities, including Battlesteads observatory, and at a more reasonable price than many other properties in the area.

It was very comfortable and clean within and, once we figured out how the boiler worked (essential in the first week of January), very cosy. A few more glasses wouldn't go amiss, but that's about it. We would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay over New Year at Tyne View.

The cottage is in a really nice location, it was just the right size for us, 2 adults 2 children and a dog. Had everything we needed, and loved having the log burner on an evening. We had an issue with a radiator, owners sorted this straight away which was appreciated. Great stay, and would stay again.

I have stayed at this cottage before but after walking into the property this time i was dissapointed as there was no wood provided for fire which owners normally put out for 1 fire worth.

I was also dissapointed that the tv did not have any sound coming for it and finally the way sykes wanted to charge me extra to exstend my holiday which was going to cost more than what it was advertised on the website in the first place. Would i reconsider renting from sykes cottages again deffently NO as they are the worst holiday agents

Booked this cottage as i have stayed in it before back in 2023 so knew what to expect.

Sadly could never get the tv to work as no sound came out of it. Luckly i did bring my tablet with me so my tablet turned into a small tv instead. I also had issues with sykes as i wanted to exstend my hiliday for an extra week. When i checked on the qebsite a week stay was priced for novenber 2025 at £395.00 but when i rang sykes up they wanted to charge me more than what the holiday cottage was to book it as a new booking seperately on the website. Would i recomend booking anorher holiday pripwrty throgh sykes? NO i would not recomend booking at all throufh sykes.

Beautiful stone terraced cottage overlooking the North Tyne river with spectacular view from living room and main bedroom.

Being in the village of Wark there’s a convenience store with post office within walking distance and pub open evenings. The cottage was very clean and spacious accommodating a family of four plus dog. Only thing missing in a well furnished kitchen was a brush and or mop to sweep the kitchen floor. Other than that minor point highly recommended.

Lovely cottage in pleasant location next to the river with amazing outlook.

Nice welcome gift of milk, prosseco and treats for our dog. Very clean and with all the facilities needed for our stay. Lacking in storage space in 2nd bedroom . Main bedroom lacked a stool //chair so had to dry hair standing at the mirror. Friendly and welcoming villagers .Cafe 1871 in village catered for our breakfast daily with a good choice on menu and very pleasant staff..dog friendly too.

Unfortunately, very disappointed with our stay and it's the first time ever happened.

Cleanliness alot to be desired. Poo stains in toilet, hairs behind toilet lid, dusty and big cobwebs, shower didn't drain properly led to not using shower properly, when lifting the cap off the plug area, full of hair and dirt. Basically the cleaners didn't do there job. Did contact the owners unfortunately they were away. Property is nice just a shame about the cleanliness, also please note it's not a private garden, shared with neighbours, so doggies need to be on lead when outside as gate leads straight onto the road. If would have know this we wouldn't have booked it. Owners did sort a iron and ironing board out for us. Area nice and quiet, local pub grey bull nice and battlesteads hotel nice.

We both enjoyed staying at 4 Tyne View.

Very comfortable, and provided everything we needed for our four day stay (although, somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom would be useful-such a minor point, it's almost not worth mentioning). Parking was easy, and a nice short dog walk along the bank of the river practically right from the doorstep was perfect for Leo. We didn't visit the nearby pub, but the cafe next door to the pub was very nice. Overall we had a very enjoyable break. Thanks.

The property was as advertised with a lovely view over the river North Tyne and bridge.

The house was nicely presented and cosy, good sized kitchen area, the living area was cosy and comfortable. Nice and quiet at night, bed was very comfy and bathroom has a nice big walk in shower. The village itself had a pub and eatery within walking distance and a well stocked village store. The weather for the week was good which made for a very pleasant stay. We had a lovely weeks stay in Tyne View with views over the river.

The cottage was perfect for us, warm and comfortable, with everything that we needed. Unfortunately for Geoff, we had to contact him to come and help us work out how to use the TV (due to us being of a certain age), we thank you for that. Wark is a lovely little village, friendly people and with plenty of walks to do in a beautiful area. Would love to return.

Loved the cottage and the area.

The town is quaint and the locals are so friendly. There are great walks within a short distance if the cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and has everything that you could possibly need. The cottage was also clean and tidy when we arrived. We would recommend the cottage.

The cottage has everything you need to make your stay feel homely and comfortable. The village of Wark is a beautiful setting and everyone we met were so friendly. A huge thanks to the owners for getting the cottage ready for us a short notice we really appreciated it.

We have really enjoyed our stay at 4 Tyne View, the cottage has everything you could need for a lovely holiday the location right by the side of the river was a joy to see each morning when you look out of the bedroom window overlooking the bridge.

Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to explore this area. And being Dog friendly was a big bonus for the the 3 of us. Thanks again Geoff & Alison

Lovely cottage, well equipped and decorated.

Good views and with local shop and pubs. Lots to do in the area. There could have been a little more information about the TV and recycling and a bit deceiving about the gravelled area and not as clean as would expect but on the whole very comfortable and we had a lovely week. Thank you.

Extremely clean and comfortable

Lovely, comfortable and deceptively spacious cottage.

Brilliant setting by the river. Ideal for walks with our cocker spaniel Toffee. The local scenery is stunning. Very much enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we visit the area.

Well equipped and up to date property.

Very comfortable and quiet. Wifi works really well and in an excellent position overlooking the river.

The cottage was very comfortable and had ample hot water.

May be worth mentioning there is no downstairs toilet. Very good location with a good shop, two pubs although the nearest pub does not serve food but another 5 minute walk to Battlesteads which serves excellent food.

A beautiful location.

Well appointed house. Only let down was kitchen and bathroom not very clean when we arrived. Bathroom sink dirty and bin was full of rubbish. Kitchen worktops grubby and dusty. One of the single beds very uncomfortable, massive dip in the mattress. However we did enjoy our stay very much.

Nice little property in a good location.

I think it would benefit from a visitors book as that is often a way to find good places to visit and eat.

Good access for walking and touring . Could do with improved welcome pack . I.e. advice on local amenities. Cosy and warm comfy bed good shower. Local people friendly and helpful .

What a beautiful property.

Me and my mum absolutely loved our little trip away here. The views from the bedroom were beautiful. The house was clean and look newly decorated. We would definitely return. We went star gazing locally which was a lovely experience and i’d definitely recommend.

An excellent, very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.

Ideal base for many destination and good walks from the door. We were lucky enough to see an otter playing in the river near the bridge..we saw him clearly from the front bedroom window and he was still there when we walked out onto the bridge. The locals in the village were very friendly and the two little shops cater for most needs. Two very minor points; We normally clear up thoroughly before we leave but could not find a vacuum cleaner and there was no hair drier. Just for information really. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Lovely warm central heating. Comfy sofas. Great village location and lovely river views and walks. Ideal staycation!

With everything we need. Spotless, clean. The owner very kind, helpful and generous with decorating and presents, a huge starter kit. Thank you very much for everything, really appreciate it. We had a lovely time, we would like to come back again. Hopefully the weather is going to be better.

A lovely short stay.

Cottage well presented and so clean. A few issues with TV reception but owner came twice to sort it out and has arranged TV engineer to come. Great area for walking. Thank you Geoff for your prompt visit. Much appreciated

We couldn't have had a nicer stay.

We had a query which the property owner helped us with immediately. A bottle of wine and milk in the fridge was a very nice touch and showed that the owners cared about their property and it's renters. We would definitely return.

Absolutely STUNNING!

!!! This is definitely the crème de la crème of Sykes holiday cottages - and it's definitely THE BEST one we have EVER stayed in!!!!! The cottage has absolutely everything - very well equipped kitchen, washing machine, upright fridge freezer and soooo much storage space with big bright windows, with STUNNING views across the River Tyne! The shower is AWESOME - nice set of fluffy towels, and the beds are just sooooo comfortable you can hear nothing but the babbling river over the stones and the ducks laughing in the night all leads to a beautiful peaceful night's sleep! Two huge sofas in the lounge, fantastic parking space just outside the kitchen door. The village and the folk who live there are the FRIENDLIEST people you could ever wish to meet, and the walks that we did everyday across the river are absolutely spell bounding! Peacefulness and tranquility beyond comprehension - we even saw a family of Kingfishers on the river and a pair of Great crested grebes too!!! If it would be at all possible, I would have no hesitation in giving this AMAZING cottage and it's surroundings one hundred million percent out of ten, because it is VERY well deserved! Not often you can say in this day and age, but it is just soooooo absolutely PERFECT in EVERY way! The only downside was our time there went just too quick - we could stay there FOREVER!!!!!!
