Very comfortable and well equipped cottage.

We weren’t fully aware there was a working farm next door. A grab rail in the shower would be useful.

Excellent cottage.

Comfy beds and seating. Lovely decoration, homey feeling. Peaceful location in a great location. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Comfortable holiday home with everything you would need.

Situated in a very quiet, relaxing rural area with so much to see and do within driving distance. Would recommend.

First trip back for 15 years.

Still as lovely as I remember it. Not many places these days where you can see vehicles travelling along a distant road but no noise. A happy place for me with memories of people and pets no longer with us. Will definitely return.

Isaacs cottage is a pretty and very spacious comfortable cottage with everything you need inside.

There are outstanding views and lovely walks from the door. The owners and local people are very friendly and helped to make the stay even better. Good location to visit the lovely areas of northumberland and into Cumbria. The track to the cottage was very easy to drive on and we have a very low riding car. Thank you I am sure we will return one day.

Pictures don't do it justice its so much bigger in person. It had everything we needed and we appreciated the bottle of prosecco, cake and chocolates on arrival, thank you!

Lovely, well appointed cottage.

It’s a very rural location and the road is a bit pot holey but easily passable, not tight. There is ample parking. The cottage itself is more spacious than expected from the holiday literature. The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are cosy. The beds are comfortable. I would suggest a bit more cutlery as you quickly get through it. Also note that there is a large upstairs but the shower is downstairs. Overall we were very pleased and would happily stay again.

Lovely cottage and as description.

Only comment was lighting too dim. We read a lot on holiday and had to move standard lamp to kitchen so that we could see. Road to cottage was fine but we do have a 4x4. Texel Sheep quite scary!! Plenty to see and do - don't miss the DALEK museum in Allendale. and Ushaw Hall was new to us and well worth a visit. Thanks to Heather and Richard for lovely holiday and for the complimentary milk, non alc. drinks and GF cake which was delicious. P&P

I had terrible weather- but the cottage was warm and comfortable so it really didn't matter.

The kitchen was very well equipped and the living room had a cosy fire and comfortable sofas. The view out over the valley was beautiful and surrounding area was totally unspoilt and authentic. There are great dog walks straight from the cottage - but if you have more than one dog and you're on your own - some of the stiles are tricky to negotiate. I do want to return when the weather is better !

A lovely cottage in a quiet & peaceful location.

It had everything we needed for self catering , was spacious clean & very comfortable . We particularly liked the huge bed ! It’s not close to pubs or shops but who cares ? The views from the covered picnic table at the front are exceptional . We loved coming back here at night for a glass of wine overlooking the dale . Would highly recommend.

Isaac's Cottage is in the perfect setting.

Beautiful views across the value. It has lovely covered patio, perfect for outdoor eating and a summer house which takes full advantage of the view. Great for bird watching and general wildlife spotting. The cottage is cosy, very comfortable and well equipped. It's an ideal location for some great local walks and we will definitely come back for more.

Fabulous views of the countryside. Lovely to meet the host. Thank you for the cake and wine gift on arrival. We had a perfect week at Isaacs cottage and would definitely book again. Beds were comfortable and spacious. Had everything we needed. It is in a remote location around 15 minutes to the closest village and pub but this wasn't a drawback for us. Its a perfect getaway from it all. Take food that you need or expect a drive to the local shops. Indian in Allendale was very nice. Can definitely recommend the pub Carts Bogg Inn near Langley, the food is very nice and a lovely log fire atmosphere.

We had a fabulous stay at Isaac’s Cottage.

It was clean, comfortable and well equipped with wonderful touches for when we arrived (the cake was lush thank you). A perfect location with beautiful views, we can’t wait to return.

Lovely cosy cottage surrounded by very curious sheep.

Really quiet, beds super comfy and kitchen large and well equipped. Sky tv and WiFi were a great bonus when the weather was rough. A beautiful area, easy access to Allendale (lovely tea room and pub) and Hexham beyond. Would definitely recommend.

An amazing cottage in a gorgeous setting!

Absolutely fell in love with the area, and Isaacs Cottage was the perfect base to relax in. Very spacious, well equipped and perfectly comfortable. We have no negative words to say, one of the best places we've stayed in a long time.

The cottage is situated in a lovely position with spectacular views of the fells, very peaceful comfortable stay , two minor points , one being the shower could do with a shelf for soap and shampoo bottles the other is the light bulbs only provided a dim light , otherwise we had a lovely time at the cottage.

Very nice cottage and location.

Very peaceful and lovely views. Seems remote but only 5 miles to a town with a small supermarket and pubs. Cottage was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. I've seen a few reviews suggesting you need a 4x4 to get up the farm track but we pottered up and down for a week in a Renault Clio without any bother, just take your time!

The property was great hosts nothing to much trouble only let down was Sykes as when I booked I asked for hot tub Sykes said there was and even when I checked again they still said hot tub but there information was wrong but they offered no apology what so ever so cottage great Sykes need a lot of improvement

Despite the weather, we had a great time at Isaac’s Cottage.

Anyone staying here should be aware of the very bumpy track to the property- we have a Landrover so it wasn’t an issue for us.

Enjoyed our stay as the cottage was very comfortable.

The surrounding area is lovely and we had some great walks with the dogs on the moors. Visited several places on Hadrians Wall, also had a day in the Lake District, about an hour and a half drive to Keswick. We didn't find any walks/footpaths direct from the cottage and the access road to the cottage is a farm track that's quite bumpy, which wasn't made clear in the listing. Would stay at Isaacs Cottage again though.

A great place to spend the week.

Isaacs cottage was in a perfect location for me and my husband to walk/cycle from.

The countryside is stunning and picturesque. It is secluded, but easy to get to larger places of historical interest by car or bike. The cottage itself is so well equipped, especially in the kitchen where everything you could imagine was found. I’d also like to thank the owner Heather for making us so welcome. She goes above and beyond to help in anyway. Thanks so much and well done. Juliet and Edward frankland.

This was our second visit to Isaac’s cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed it, we will visit again.

We were really disappointed to see the hot tub was gone upon arrival as we really enjoyed using it the first time we stayed. The cottages is presented beautifully and is really comfortable. There are lots of lovely walks from the cottage.

Perfect holiday cottage tucked away in the hills - had everything we desired and was the perfect place to celebrate a 30th birthday with family.

Fantastic Cottage!

! We visited on 29th December to see in the new year. The cottage was exactly as we hoped it would be, cosy and remote, away from any hustle. The directions were clear and we had no trouble finding it. We had brought a lot with us that we thought we might need but everything was supplied in terms of logs, toilet tissue, bin bags etc and there was enough cutlery and dishes for a large family and we were also welcomed with a nice message and a cake that we weren’t expecting. The cottage is well laid out and has ample room for four adults to live in comfort. We had two small dogs with us and they loved the walks around the area and then sleeping in front of the open fire. We couldn’t fault anything about our stay at all and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice relaxing getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at Isaac’s cottage.

It was a wonderful escape for us with a perfect mix of short and long walks right from the door. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. It was immaculately clean and had all we needed for a great stay! Nestled into the hillside it had amazing views. Heather was absolutely lovely to communicate with, responding quickly. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay here, it was very cosy and the facilities were great, shower was amazing and the open fire was fantastic.

We very much appreciated the welcome gift and hot tub too for the evenings! The only issue we had was the wheely bin was full when we arrived so we weren’t able to put our rubbish in it at the end of our stay, it may be helpful to have a larger or second bin if possible. Apart from that everything was fantastic, thank you so much!

Everything was clean and ready for us to use.

Didn't meet the owner just their daughter-in-law (& her lovely 2 girls!) and she was a darling, very helpful & sweet. Wonderful, cozy & quirky cottage attached to the farmhouse but with your own privacy. Nicely styled bedrooms, very different but all with super comfortable beds and lots of storage. Kitchen well equipped & we had a lovely welcome pack of milk, chocolate cake & white wine waiting for us. Wonderfully comfortable and cozy living room to lounge in after dinner with a book or a game. The hot tub was awesome, very large and with beautiful lights both inside the water & also over the heads on the wooden roof. We used it every evening & it was nice to soak in the hot water with the jets on while it was raining outside! One night the moon came out while we were in, that was unbelievable! I would highly recommend Isaacs cottage if you want peace, quiet & a bit off the beaten track. The scenery all around is breathtakingly beautiful, and tons of day trips await. To the near there are Allenheads, Allendale, which are both lovely! Stanhope was nice & isnt too far. Hexham, Durham, Corbridge (oh, don't miss Corbridge!! Wonderful little village with cafés, shops, church, great afternoon out!!), also Hadrian's wall only 30 min. away by car (various sites, if you have time try 2 or 3, they are all a bit different!) or villages up the coast are also doable. We went to Alnwick, lovely drive about 90 min. (if you dont take the A1 but go cross country you'll be amazed at how beautiful the countryside is!! Many photo spots await you there.). We took walks in the National park to the North, but there are walks really pretty from basically just up the road from the house as well!! We were very happy with the place and felt right at home when we arrived. There wasn't a thing we didn't like! Would love to return! What a wonderful week spent in this wonderful place! Just mind you, it's remote, and the farm track is a little bumpy in places, so drive carefully & don't bring your Porsche. ;-)

Beautiful cosy comfortable cottage.

Our week stay went very quickly! The peace quiet and lovely walks are amazing. The neighbors are lovely too. We will return.

Sitting in the hot tub with the glorious views. Beds were so comfortable we had the best nights sleep. We would highly recommend staying.

The neighboring hosts are friendly and welcoming - the cottage is clean and comfortable and our 2 dogs were secure and relaxed - but a little baffled at the over friendly lambs. For a peaceful relaxing break you couldn't ask for anywhere better. Thank you for a lovely time.

We have had a great week staying at Isaacs Cottage.

The hottub was definitely the highlight of the cottage. That was lovely to use after a long walk. Very relaxing. Beautiful scenery. The beds were excellent - so soft and very comfortable to sleep in. The decor was mixed throughout the house. The downstairs was quite cold and the upstairs warm. Further from Hadrian Wall than we expected.

The cottage was just as you seen in the brochure and the scenery was fabulous there was plenty of places to see and everyone was so helpful in the villages and shops telling you the places to visit The family are very welcoming and helpful at all times and nothing is a trouble for them.

Such a lovely cottage, had everything you need surrounded by amazing scenery.

The hot tub is a bonus after those long walks.

The views are amazing, the hot tub great, beds ultra comfy and open fire lovely after some winters walks. It is very remote so a lovely get away from it all stay - with some lovely walks. Great family time had by all. Would definitely recommend.

Had an amazing chilled week at Isaacs cottage.

The cottage has everything you need to enjoy time away from everything. Loved the walks along Hadrian’s wall and locally, followed by mulled wine in front of the open fire in the cosy lounge. The hot tub is amazing with lovely views over surrounding countryside. The owners have thought of every detail. Would love to return in the future.

Would recommend thoroughly enjoyed my week

Not only is the house in the most beautiful setting, but it has a really cosy feeling.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived. We always take a few basic kitchen and house bits and pieces with us, on the off chance we need them, but at Isaacs cottage you truly don’t need them! The kitchen, and house, have everything you could possibly ask for. It was a fantastic base to explore Northumberland, and the Hot Tub is fantastic after a day of walking. There are also two very friendly cats who like to come and say hello at every opportunity! The only downside was that we only booked for a week. I would quite happily have stayed for longer and cannot recommend Isaacs Cottage enough.

This was the most beautiful setting, in the middle of beautiful landscape and with everything we could want in the cottage for a really comfortable stay.

Add to this friendly cats and friendly neighbours and we couldn’t have asked for much more

Isaacs Cottage is in a very peaceful location with lovely views over the opposite hillside.

Hot tub was great after a days walking. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break.

There is an uneven gravel access road to the property which was a challenge in our low down cabriolet but once we mentioned this to the owners they sent out a tractor to level it off which was brilliant!

We stayed at Issacs cottage and it was wonderful, we have already recommend Sykes and the cottage to friends and family.

This is probably the most comfortable cottage we have stayed in, it has everything you need for a perfect stay.

It is in a beautiful location and the views from the hot tub are second to none. We will definitely return in the future.

Very remote cottage, perfect views.

Cottage equipped with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen! Beds very comfy and lovely bedding too. Some great places to drive to in the area, lots of castles ,history and lovely villages.

Just brilliant!

We visited as 4 adults, 1 child and a toddler and were concerned about space - we needn't have been - there was ample space and everything we could have asked for. The kitchen was one of the best equipped ones I've come across in a holiday cottage, we even had everything we needed to bake. Easy to find but so very peaceful and tranquil, the nearby village of Allendale has several nice pubs, all of which do food, a well stocked shop and a great play park, complete with zip-wire. The hot tub was fantastic and ending our days having a soak taking in the breathtaking views was just perfect. Unlike other holiday cottages we've stayed in which can be a bit soulless...Isaac Cottage feels so homely with lots of character and the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. Highly recommended by us - we'll be back!

Perfect rural location in beautiful countryside.

Really quiet which is why we booked it. Couple of great pubs and a coop in the local village also. The cottage is amazing spacious and really comfortable and done to perfection. The hot tub was also a really nice addition. Perfect!

The owners were lovely and helpful We really appreciated the little touches of being left a cake and wine. Have recommended to others already. If we could change one thing it would be the bed we used in the main bedroom which was a standard double and not so comfortable. Otherwise excellent and would go again.

Immaculately clean, roomy cottage, nice welcome pack. Was great to eat in a good-sized kitchen, then adjourn to the living room and light the fire (we were provided with enough kindling, coal and logs for the week). Powerful shower, lots of towels provided. Beautiful scenery. We enjoyed local walks, cycling on quiet roads and several local tea shops.

I've been to quite a few self catering cottages in my time.

Isaac's Cottage is at the top of the list,! It was peaceful, comfortable and very well equipped, and what fantastic views everywhere. The owners are friendly and readily available if needed. The lovely weather certainly helped with our enjoyment of a first visit to Northumberland. Wish I'd booked for 2 weeks. We aim to return, for longer next time. Thank you Heather and Richard. We were very pleased with the cottage,The location was not too far from anywhere, The scenery was beautiful, And the local people were very friendly.

A wonderfully comfortable cottage owned by a lovely family, very spacious and equipped with everything we required to make this a most enjoyable week in a location that can't be beat.

Close enough for sightseeing and essentials, yet set in a quiet valley with outstanding views. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic cottage in a lovely area.

It is very well furnished and has everything you need for a great family holiday. As far as cottages we have stayed in over the years, this was by far the best in every aspect.
