“Ramblers Cottage is a great property, with a home from home feel.”

the owner has thought of everything you will need for a happy stay. well situated for all the local attractions - bamburgh, alnwick, seahouses, holy island, not forgetting chillingham castle which is well worth a visit. Ramblers Cottage garden is tranquil to sit and watch nature. the map wall is amazing and useful! the owner is easily contactable, if there are any issues. we would definitely stay here again, if in that area. thanks.

The area around Powburn is great for walking and is near to hills and the coast, so is ideally placed to explore. Powburn has a petrol station which also has a well stocked shop for any of those last minute items. Overall a really nice place to stay.

“It is a beautiful property set in a very small quiet village.”

The property is very clean, and beautifully decorated with lots of thought into the theme of the design, and a lovely seating area in the back garden; the property is very comfortable and is in a very quiet area. The property has a spacious bathroom with a very comfortable bed and we would stay again for sure. Very accessible to Newcastle, Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne, and other great scenic areas. We even visited Beamish Live Museum which was only 59 minutes from this location and is worth visiting. We really enjoyed our stay here. 5 stars !

Very comfortable, clean and spacious. Sunny garden with chairs and outdoor tableware. Nice quiet village which was close for the beach and the Cheviot Hills. Plenty to do and see locally, with places to eat and shop. We had a wonderful week and hope to go back very soon.

“Unfortunately there was an overpowering smell from the oil boiler.”

It permeated the whole home. I did let the owner know and he has responded. Also the Internet network didn't connect, there was no hair dryer (which I assumed would be there as they always are in other holiday homes). Overall the standard was lower than I am used to and I take UK holidays twice yearly staying in often cheaper but much higher standard houses/cottages.

The small pretty Northumberland village of Powburn is situated in the foothills of the Cheviots and surrounded by glorious countryside. The village has a shop and a wide range of amenities are available in the nearby market town of Alnwick. The village makes an ideal base for exploring the Northumberland National Park, Alnwick with its imposing castle (known to millions as Hogwarts School in Harry Potter!), the impressive castle gardens and The Treehouse Restaurant. The spectacular coastline, the attractive towns of Wooler and Rothbury and the well known National Trust country house and gardens at Cragside are all within easy reach.
