I was very disappointed with the service provided by Sykes.
From the moment I needed assistance, I was repeatedly ignored despite sending multiple emails and WhatsApp messages. I was assured someone would contact me, but that simply never happened. In the end, I had to sort everything out myself without any support from Sykes. The cottage itself was excellent, and I have no complaints whatsoever about the property. In fact, I feel the owners are being massively let down by the poor customer service provided by Sykes. It’s a shame because they deserve much better representation than they are receiving. Based on my experience, I have lost confidence in Sykes as a company. The lack of communication and customer care was unacceptable, and it has made me reconsider future bookings. I will not be using Sykes again and would encourage property owners to consider whether they are being represented in the best possible way.
Accommodation was clean and cosy but could do with a sharp knife.
The toilet flush downstairs was very erratic and upstairs shower a bit feeble. The double bed does need a new mattress, it rolls you to the middle but thankfully the single beds were ok! The kitchen sink was also very slow for water to drain away, I think some things just required a bit of maintenance. Property is in a good position and there is a part time pub on site too.
Great location, well equipped cottage which would benefit from an update.
