Description

This cosy semi-detached cottage is situated in the hamlet of Beal near a railway level crossing on the access road to Holy Island, making it the ideal holiday home for railway enthusiasts.

With panoramic views of open fields, the property is ideal for a family who wish to explore this fascinating region.

Offering two cosy bedrooms, there’s also a comfortable sitting room with a patio door and a kitchen with an adjacent dining area.

To the front is a walled, gravelled patio area and to the rear a delightful summerhouse with comfortable sofas and a decked area with views over the open countryside.

The tiny scattered hamlet of Beal boasts fantastic attractions with the popular tourist destination, The Barn at Beal, offering birdwatching, a great bar and restaurant, and a shop selling locally-grown produce.

Fabulous walks and cycle routes are available from the doorstep as the cottage is situated on the Northumberland Coast Path, which runs through the hamlet and continues south along the delightful Heritage Coastline, or why not take a stroll along one of the endless golden beaches where seals and sea birds flourish?

The causeway taking you to Holy Island is just a five-minute drive away, as is the A1, which will quickly whisk you away to the many delights of Northumberland including the castles at Bamburgh, Warkworth, Alnwick and Dunstanburgh.

Edinburgh is also within travelling distance, as are Newcastle and Hadrian's Wall.

This cottage is in an excellent position for discovering the delights of Northumberland at any time of year!

The cottage was brilliant every thing we needed snd more , loved hearing the trains snd seeing the countryside on our doorstep , one slight issue WiFi wasn’t very strong signal kept dropping out which could be frustrating but 5g signal was good in the area so not a major issue , would stay again and the host Mrs Bell was so lovely

The cottage was immaculately clean upon arrival and is nicely decorated throughout.

There was plenty of room for a family of four and our two boys enjoyed wondering around the garden. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Northumberland coastline and parts of Scotland. I'd recommend visiting Edinburgh for the day if you can, but there's plenty to do if you want to stay local. Thank you to the owner Marjorie for a wonderful stay!

Sweet house, beautifully furnished and well maintained.

Handy for Holy Island and about 5 minutes from A1 so good for trips. Mrs Bell was lovely so problems would have been sorted if we'd had any. Close to a railway line but we soon got used to that. We would go again.
